    Just got off a chat and it seems that the august update was an issue, but was fixed right away. Now the problem is the connection of servers between xbox and game servers and the game servers fail to recognize the gold subscription. I also chatted about
    compensation and was told there is nothing they can do at this point at least until it is fixed, but I was strongly advised to make a post on user voice regarding it so I did.

    Please vote this up so we have the best chance possible to get compensated for our problems!

    Had them cancel my LIVE and they gave me codes to put the same amount on it. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to input them just to be safe (they opened a support case for me with the next tier so I'll let them have a day to check into it).

    I'll post tomorrow yay / nay if cancelling down to silver and bumping back to Gold fixed it.

    I can tell you now what you see (done this multiple times now)

    You're asked for your email address, then your password, then it asks you which security you want on your console, then it asks if you want gold. It asks if you want 12 months or 1 month (i always choose pick later as I have gold un till December)

    Mister Cerb, please stop advising people to do this, it doesn't work. The problem is server side, nothing to do with our accounts.

    i have tired the troubleshooting steps twice and its still not working. i also tried factory reset which didn't work either.

    I am back online.

    I had to use online chat, and they dumped my GOLD status. Then issued me codes to recreate it. I waited 24hrs to be safe, but I just inputted them and GOLD items seem to be working.

    Going to double check to make sure its all there, but I think I'm good.

    Quick Side Note (since I've seen a couple questions about it): This thread only has "verified" answers so that they remain at the top of every page in the thread. It doesn't mean that the thread is answered (it's definitely not) but since a
    huge part of the finding the root of this issue is to have everyone try the troubleshooting steps above, I verified that answer so that (hopefully) everyone coming to this thread will read that post, try the steps there, then make a post indicating that they've
    tried the steps.

    Now then, I've taken every new poster's information (who has posted saying that they tried the steps above) and bubbled it up to the appropriate teams. I can assure you that we're on the horn with them and we're doing what we can to get everyone up and running
    as soon as possible.

    If you are one of the folks experiencing this issue, there is a work-around that has helped some users. To do this, you'll want to get in touch with phone support (you can use the
    Contact Us page to keep from waiting on hold). When you're on the phone with them, try having them cancel your Gold Membership, then give you a token to redeem onto your account. We've seen this
    work for some users so it's definitely worth a shot while we look into things on this end.

    I am sincerely sorry to see that this is still affecting you all. I assure you that we're working as hard as we can to get things sorted. Thank you all very much for your patience while we investigate. =)

    Yep, this cancelling of your Gold and then getting a code for the reamining time left worked for me. Did it last night, took about fifteen minutes to get the customer support agent to go through the usual "unplug this", "redownload that" etc. but after
    that it was a couple of minutes and I was back up and running.

    I called the support and told me to wait next week for fix! Nothing else! About lost days of my current Gold subscription? Nothing they said! A lot of time lost in this case! Will sell the One for Ps4, friends will follow!

    @Guardianpie. yo need to be aggresive over the phone. The guy i talked to. told me he couldnt cancel and reimburse me for the time. he said it wasn't possible. Then I told him that on the support forums this method is possible. so then he put me on hold
    for 10 min while he talked to someone else of higher authority. Then he said he got the green light to do so

    I have the same problem also.

    I did try why you suggested Mister Cerb - To no avail

    When I complete the add account procedure I get asked if I want to buy Xbox Gold.

    It all started when I was playing Dead Rising 3. Out of the blue I get spammed with "buy Xbox Gold blablabla" every 30-45 seconds

    rebooted the box and the spamming stopped.

    I still have full access to all my games but no online capabilities

    The transaction ins registered as settled on commerce.microsoft.com on the 22nd september 2014

  15. Hey, guys! Sorry to see you're still affected by this! Please try the last step that Mister Cerb posted and contact us via phone or chat. Tell them specifically what he states up there; they need to issue you a Gold token for you to reapply to your account.
    Please post back your results after that. Xbox One Saying I don't have gold membership. :D
