Can't read game discs

My Xbox one is having trouble reading games. No errors just says insert disc. It quickly reads dvds no problem. My games are mint no scratches or anything.

I got it to detect a game last night by starting a DVD then putting a game. That's not working today. Almost seems like a software issue due to it quickly reading dvds.

Xbox 360 takes minutes to load a dashboard application after using dvd drive

I would say this is because the dvd drive is still reading. Installing your game to your Hard drive would solve this issue. I install all my games and while it take a moment to load the Game library because of so much stuff, it runs better

For any sort of disc error message, I always refer over to our Disc Troubleshoot page. There you will find various
steps that may help with what you are experiencing. If for whatever reason that doesn't work, try our Game Troubleshooting steps
in combination with clearing the persistent storage under Settings>Disc and Bluray>Bluray>Persistent Storage. Let us know hot it goes!

I'm sorry you're having issues with your console recognising Xbox 360 games. The end your post says your console can't read DVD discs either, is that correct?

If your console can't read Movie DVD's either then I'm afraid that means your Xbox One has a hardware issue with the Blu-ray drive. The Xbox One Blu-ray drive has a laser that can read both types of disc, however, it sounds to me like the part of the drive
that reads DVD discs is faulty (Xbox 360 games are on DVD disc format).

To get this corrected you'll have to send your console to Microsoft for a repair.

Try a movie DVD and see if that works to rule out the drive

Movie DVDs are reading without any issue, the Xbox One seems to only have issues reading the Xbox 360 game disc licenses.

Check if your Xbox One can play standard DVD movie discs (Not Blu-ray discs). Xbox 360 game discs use DVD disc media. If your console can not read DVD discs, then it has a hardware fault.

There are two lasers built into the drive assembly. A red laser reads DVD's and a Blue laser reads Blu-ray discs. The laser that reads DVD's has failed. This isn't user replaceable/repairable.

The only option would be a replacement console or a console repair. No other way around it, sorry.
