Xbox One Sales More Than Double In June

I would want to see next month. I know of some people who were going to buy and then heard about the Kinect-less sku and waited. Have to see if next month increases again or if we see a drop off to the average of May-June. If we see a drop to the average
of those or a little less then I would say the drop had to due with some people waiting.

"Seriously, just think what Xbox One would have been like if this Integral-Kinectless model of the console had been available at launch.."

I can see they could have added a little more to the console and kept the cost down. This is not a comparison but they have a competitor that does have better hardware (in terms of power) that is selling at the same price (was selling for less given Kinect).
They should have went with stronger hardware at $400. Then market Kinect and make it worth while and people would by. The Kinect could be useful but they needed to make it useful. They should have offered a bundle with it and one without. Content would
have made it worth it and sold it.

 

I think we'll see better bundles nearer Christmas, particularly if the PS4 is still outselling the Xbox One at that point.

It's a shame MS botched the launch though. It's another case of them thinking too far ahead. They did the same with tablets and smart watches, and you could argue that they did the same with Windows 8 as well. Rather than nailing what consumers want now,
they tried to sell them a vision of the future that consumers didn't like, then another company came along and did it better and then they were left playing catch-up. One day, physical media will go away and we'll probably be buying games as a service, rather
than paying £x for individual titles, but there's still far too many people buying games on physical media for that to happen now.

 

@Pro Kinectless people. It's ok, you just won't get the experience intended for you.

And you will probably join the fight with others to bring back the slower Stone Age UI simply because your not getting the Experience intended.

I have a feeling neither next gen systems will last more than 5 years.

My reasoning stems from my forgetful population theory. I think within 5 years most console gamers will want something faster and stronger.

And no I am not trying to say X1 is slow and weak.. But let's not kid our selfs their is better technology than consoles can seem to supply.

Who ever makes the first interchange parts console will make a fortune. IMO

 

Listed mia; Internal/External Parts are workable. It's the software that has always been consoles Achilles Heel.

One day someone will come out with a console capable of playing any, and all of it's former competitors games. Including Windows 95.

The tech is there. All that's required is getting around the Patients/Licenses to bring to market such an Animal.

 

@Nxt....... it is 2014....... $499 isn't a lot a money now.
