Well this was surely the reason MSFT was wise to invest so many resources in the success of Titanfall. The game is continuing to sell and push consoles out the door. Does this new s surprise you? Have you picked up your copy yet?

 

Wait till the end of the year and I think we will see Microsoft right up there with sony on units sold

I don't think they sold a lot of Xbox one in April,so double that unknown number doesn't means anything.

Microsoft should find other ways to talk/advertise Xbox one,than just copy what competitor do.

 

Always good to hear! Big titles are coming so everyone is getting in on the X1 now.

 

I wonder if this sales spike is because of the One having a Kinect free version released in that same month.

Be a stunning coincidence if it wasn't.

Hopefully though this wont put of development of Kinect games or features.

 

Uh, I hope it doubled since it was atrocious in May, all of 77k sold in May (probably because people waited for the Kinectless xbox).

Add in that it should have a spike from people who waited in May. So yeah, it doubling isn't that big a feat. I mean if we double 77k, we get 154k, which is maybe a little more than they have been selling the last few months (not including May) but not a
huge uptick. Certainly not when you consider you had so many people saying they would buy once there was a kinectless version... where are those people? You should have seen a huge uptick judging by a lot of people claiming they'd buy then.

And I think PS4 still sold more anyways (One has only outsold PS4 one month, in December when they were still getting holiday and buyers who had to have it right away and PS4 was supply constrained).

 

No matter how you look at it $399 + games is still alot of money for most people. So doubling sales in only the first month of the kinectless sku is a step in the right direction for MS. No matter what the numbers actually are.

 

197,000+ Is a good figure, before anyone else says that X and X sold more. The point is that more people are buying the xb1. This is good

 

We still fell short of the competition in June. Personally I just do not understand why (well, backlash E3 2013 and the price tag) We have more exclusive games (AAA). And a vastly superior online community.

 

You see this is what annoys me even more.

It's great that Microsoft finally ditched that unimportant peripheral, but these latest sales for Xbox One only once again demonstrate how bad an idea of forcing the "Integral" Kinect on gamers really was.

Seriously, just think what Xbox One would have been like if this Integral-Kinectless model of the console had been available at launch, minus all that DRM stupidity from E3 2013 and a good price contender for the PS4. Xbox One could have taken market lead
in the US if Microsoft had listened to their customers from the very start.

The US accounts for 56% of the Xbox 360's entire lifetime global success. This was the market they really needed to take lead in for Xbox One.

 

Ya know, cant really disagree with Rubix, but I was a Kinect skeptical, and I didn't really care about the "Always Online", because my 360 was technically always online. If there is a internet connection hooked up, it is always online. Even if it is off,
there is a live connection feeding into it. The alleged "check in's" didn't bother me either, I sign in just about every day anyways. DRM didn't bother me either. As I said above, it was the Kinect that had me worried. Because, I am by no means a MOCAP
gamer. Just give me a controller and let me go. But the voice commands, and navigation I thought were awesome at E3 2013. I liked them on the 360 for Madden and such, so I thought heck yeah. And I tell you what, I love the Kinect 2.0. And couldn't imagine
my XB1 without it.

 

With all the upcoming coop games I had to go out and purchase a 2nd one. Destiny alone is worth upgrading for. Nows the time to buy. Take advantage of any offers available. They won't be around forever. Anyone who waits on Destiny and all the oct/nov
titles is gonna miss out.
