Xbox One S/X unexpected shutdown & startup problems

Hi there as mentioned try a power cycle see if that help, however when did this start occurring before or after a software update?

Hello!

Both of your consoles connected to different power outlets both shut down and won't power back on? Are there any other power issues? Do the TVs and other devices connected seem to work fine?

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. Try doing a
power cycle on the consoles. When they are off unplug the power cord from the back for 30 seconds. Also make sure you are plugging the consoles directly into a wall socket.

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to play your Xbox One S.

How long will it show the logo for, if you don't mind me asking?

If it never gets to the home screen then I would highly recommend trying to resolve this by resetting the console through the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. To see if this option is available to you try these steps or our guide the

Xbox One System Update Solution.

1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
   
3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the
   EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
   Xbox button on the console.
5. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
   
6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
   BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

After that you should see a menu that's titled "Troubleshoot". If you see that then try selecting the option
Reset this Xbox and then Reset this Xbox and keep my games & apps.


Try those steps when you get a chance and let us know if your Xbox responds after.

I have had this problem a few times but normally, it fixes itself after I do a complete shutdown of the Xbox One S (don't have the Xbox One X) and it connects normally. Personally haven't heard people having this problem (haven't researched this like you
have of course), but will say that when it DOES happen, I'm simply doing a full shutdown, and turning it back on and going back into the game and it works fine.
