Discus and support Xbox One S won't turn on possibly due to thunder storm. in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; A really big thunder storm was happening outside.     Xbox One S won't turn on possibly due to thunder storm.


    A really big thunder storm was happening outside. I thought the console would be fine cause as it was in a surge protector, but a massive bolt crashed down and blew the surge protector. We also have 360 which was plugged into the same protector.

    We checked the 360 and at first it had 3 red rings but a few minutes later it worked fine again. The Xbox One S however didn't fair it to well and now won't turn on no matter what. We have tried waiting (power supply reset), different wall sockets, different
    power cord extenders and different power boards.

    Nothing has worked. It even made a zapping noise at one point when plugging the power in.

    The strange thing is that the TV, 360 and the LG speakers where also plugged in and work fine. Our best theory is that the bolt hit the tv aerial and sent a surge through the HDMI cable. Don't know if this holds up, but it's the best we can guess.

    Is our One S totalled or is there a fix? (I've already sent of a repair/replace request encase there isn't).

    Possible day/night map variants?

    Not just a snow map but have an actual blizzard for weather. Maybe a dust storm or thunder storm

    As you have tried to reset the console by removing from the power outlet and it it will still not switch on afterwards it may next be worth trying a different power cable along with disconnecting all wires from the console for 10 minutes to see if that may
    be causing your problem. If this does not help then as you suspect you will probably need to send the console for repair

    We have taken a look at other cables of the same type (they won't fit though) and they do the same zapping noise when they are plugged in with power already going through them, which would indicate to me that it's not the cable as the Xbox cable does the
    same. Looks like we gotta go ahead with shipping it away. Thanks for the help mate.
