Xbox One S won't switch on

Our son only occasionally uses his x box one (which has just gone out of warranty). The power failed while he was playing it yesterday (after playing a brand new disc) and now all that happens is there is about a second of power and the light goes on for
a second, then nothing at all. We have manually ejected the disc.

We have two HDMI and power cables for using the xbox in different rooms, so have tried these options, as well as the advice above (console-wont power on).

As we are new to this process, we have spent the last hour going round and round this website in the hope of finding "an agent" or some sort of livechat with Microsoft to try and get some help.

Is there any type of live chat available for customers in the K (as it seems not)?

Should we attempt a factory reset now, or just go straight to the option of a repair centre.?

You've tried a different cable, but have you tried a different outlet, preferably on a different circuit than the previous outlet? And if you plug something into the outlet the Xbox was on, does that device power?

It could be a ventilation issue. Most likely something that requires service. You may want to send it in using the steps provided here
