Xbox One S won't send Power commands to tv or Sound bar.

I bought the new Xbox one S when it launched in early Aug. I moved my old Xbox One upstairs to set up and hook up my new Xbox one S. I set up the Tv and audio settings the exact same way I had them on my old Xbox One. Neither the IR blaster with my Xbox
one S nor the Kinect sensor turns my tv or audio sound bar off or on like it use to. The volume commands work when I ask "hey Cortana volume up or mute." I re hooked up my old Xbox one downstairs where my current Xbox one S is and it works just fine. I'm
kinda bummed. I have contacted support they havnt been much help. . Granted the Xbox is under warranty but I don't want to send in my Xbox that I just bought. I can't even return my Xbox and exchange due to the fact they don't have any more 2 TB editions.
Has anyone else had this issue with the Xbox One S And how to fix it? Nothing has changed in the home. Same location same surroundings etc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

Can't get the LG 4K TV (60UH6150) to power up/down via console.

    Good morning!

So I have tried to triage this myself, but I cannot seem to land it. This is how I am set up (no kinect....)

    1. Xbox One S
    2. LG Sound bar
    3. LG 4K TV - Model # 60UH6150
When I power on the Xbox, the console fires up, the sound bar fires up, TV does NOT. I have to manually turn it on.

When I turn off the Xbox, the console turns off, the sound bar turns off, the TV does not turn off - I have to manually turn if off.

I went into the power options, and tried every possible combination (toggle, do nothing, send power twice, etc) but it refuses to turn off with the contoller or the media remote.

What could I be missing? I can't find any documentation regarding any bugs or known issues with power down or up commands via the menu on the sound bar or the TV. It's more of an annoyance than anything. Hoping the community can help me figure this out.

    Thanks!

Xbox one won't turn off TV after update

I have my console set to turn my TV and sound bar on and off automatically. Specifically, in my power settings, the Xbox is set simply to "toggle" TV power both when it is turned on and when it is turned off, so it should be sending the exact same command
both times. Yet the command when the Xbox turns ON works, but fails when the Xbox turns OFF. The power commands to the sound bar work both times.

This is a minor problem in the scheme of things, but quite annoying just the same. Please help.

I know my son had issues with his XB1s and settings ( well a few ) but where he got a new 4K TV he phoned Samsung Support directly and they sorted it out

Sorry don't know myself but if Xbox Support can't help I'd try phoning the Support of your TVs maker

    Good luck

  5. This seems very strange and I have to wonder if it has something to do with a recent console update... although that wouldn't seem likely in your situation, but stranger things...

Anyway, the reason I say that is my SS system just recently started having a similar problem. This is with an OG X1. At first, it wouldn't turn on with the console, at all. But it would turn off with the console. No matter what I tried, nothing fixed it.
What's odd is that I've had this SS system hooked up to the same X1 since I got the X1 only a week or so after launch. Which is what makes me wonder if it has to do with a recent console update.

    So I poked around in the power up/down settings and where it gives you the drop down box with a choice it says something like;

    When console turns on send:

    (Dropdown box) - Turn on

    When console turns off send:

    (Dropdown box) - Turn off

The dropdown box gives you what I listed above, but if you click it, you also have the choice of "Toggle".

I remember reading somewhere in that menu, that "Toggle always works" but that it will turn your sound system off if you turn on your console with the sound system already on and vice versa.

I switched it to toggle and that worked... fair warning... don't know if it's just a glitch or what, but now that I have it set to toggle, I don't have the option to set it back to "On" and "Off", but at least it works now. Also seems strange that now, after
I did get it to work, my SS system doesn't turn on until after the UI appears, which is much later than before I had the issue. It still (as it always did) turns off as usual.

Don't know if anything in there will help, but might give you something to consider trying...

Xbox One X won’t turn on my Vizio soundbar

    Hi Rykard,

Thank you for coming to the forums. It does seem like the Xbox has the correct IR codes for your sound bar since it can send it remote commands except turning it on. The Xbox will only turn on the sound bar when the Xbox turns on and the sound bar is off
if you have set up the sound bar in the start up power options. Have you set remote commands for the Xbox to send an ON command when the Xbox turns on?

    Go to Settings>Power & startup>Power mode and startup>TV & A/v power options>Set up audio receiver>WHEN XBOX TURNS ON, SEND>ON.

If that doesn't help, go ahead and do a
    hard reset and power cycle
. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 2-3 minutes. Then re-connect and
turn on the Xbox. and set up the remote commands again.

Let us know if this helps!

X1 not turning my sound bar on or off since new update!!!

I had just bought a Vizio 2.1 sound bar and it works fine as intended. The only problem I am having is using the Xbox for volume controls like I can on my tv. I have the sound bar connected directly to the Xbox because to the tv I wasn't getting any output.

I find it weird that the Xbox can send the mute command and say it found the codes, but that's as far as it goes.
