    Xbox One S won't read brand new Minecraft disc


    Hello all.

    So recently my brother got Minecraft for his Xbox One S. He ordered it from an online store in the Philippines, and the product we received was legit, but it was the Japanese version. The Xbox was bought in the Philippines. When we insert the disc, the Xbox won't detect it, won't even say that there is a new game you inserted and it needs to be installed, or it doesn't say that there's something wrong with the disc, it just doesnt say or show anything as if there was no disc. I'm sure the disc drive is fine, as just minutes before that we were playing Forza Horizon 2 with the disc. Could it be a problem with the region because the game is the Japanese version? I tried restarting, haven't tried power cycling yet, pretty sure it won't help. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have a solution? Thanks, all support is appreciated.

    Having problems with lots of newer games on older 360

    Similar issue. Xbox 360 S 250gb, plays large collection of discs no problem. Brand new AC4, and Rocksmith 2014 won't load (unable to read). New AC3 plays fine. No used games, these are all brand new.

    It sounds like a faulty disc reader. I would exchange it since it's so new. That's what I would do at least.

    Hi there,

    I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing these difficulties!

    To be honest, if the console is brand new and out of the box not reading discs I would recommend exchanging it at the store. You paid good money for the console, unfortunately sometimes these hiccups happen, might as well exchange it for a nice new working

    disc drive performance.

    Did you update the console to the latest available update for the operating system.

    If so, take the disc out and try to do a hard reset/power cycle by pressing and holding the xbox logo in the front of console until it switches off.

    Wait 30 seconds before switching it on.
