Xbox One S Won't Power On

Hey guys!

So, I let my brother use my Xbox One S for a bit, and he said it won't power on anymore. I try turning it on, nothing happens. No sounds, no lights, nothing. When I plug the power cable into the Xbox, it whines for a second like an old CRT (quietly), but that's it. It's an Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Edition, and the cable is just a cable, no power brick attached. I've tried resetting the internal PSU (unplugging it, holding the power button, plugging it back in), trying different outlets, power strip and no power strip, etc.

I'm not against opening it up and tinkering with the insides, I just need to know a way to figure out what part is actually wrong with it in order to replace it. My first troubleshooting idea is getting a new cable, so I have ordered one, but idk if that'll work yet (obviously).

Any help is appreciated! (Please don't tell me to service it; I'm doing the servicing)

Unfortunately, there's no way to know where the defect is and we can't even recommend you self-repair the console. You can order Microsoft now or take it to a store in your city.
