    i have a samsung wh-e550 sound bar which worked flawlessly with my old xbox. ever since i got an xbox one s, it can't seem to power it on. it worked intermittenly for a few weeks and then stopped working all together. it does not matter where the kinect,
    sound bar, or xbox one s is located. even when pointed directly at each other it does not power on.

    Can't get the LG 4K TV (60UH6150) to power up/down via console.

    Good morning!

    So I have tried to triage this myself, but I cannot seem to land it. This is how I am set up (no kinect....)

    1. Xbox One S
    2. LG Sound bar
    3. LG 4K TV - Model # 60UH6150
    When I power on the Xbox, the console fires up, the sound bar fires up, TV does NOT. I have to manually turn it on.

    When I turn off the Xbox, the console turns off, the sound bar turns off, the TV does not turn off - I have to manually turn if off.

    I went into the power options, and tried every possible combination (toggle, do nothing, send power twice, etc) but it refuses to turn off with the contoller or the media remote.

    What could I be missing? I can't find any documentation regarding any bugs or known issues with power down or up commands via the menu on the sound bar or the TV. It's more of an annoyance than anything. Hoping the community can help me figure this out.

    Sorry to hear about the issue. How do you currently have your sound bar and console connected to your TV? Take a peek at the

    home theater setup     guide and be sure that things are appropriately set up and try again.

    cleaned all IR ports and reset / re added all components. seems fixed now.

    If its an Xbox one s or x you won't have a power supply as they are internal. I would go here https://support.xbox.com/contact-us and speak to Microsoft as it sounds
    like your console will need servicing.

    Hello JasonEvans16,

    If you have a 4K TV I would connect the Xbox One X HDMI to the TV. Then connect the optical out of the Xbox One X to your sound bar. That way you won't have to worry about degrading your video quality. Most sound bars don't have 4K passthrough.

    Whilst strictly true, the 360 could stream media from a Windows Home Server, with pictures appearing in the folders that they are in on the server. So the impression given was that the XBox was 'browsing' the server. All done with software 'built in' to
    WHS. Until the upgrade earlier this year: now one needs to install Windows Media Player on the server (other software is available:) ) - and the installer won't run on WHS. See above.
