    Xbox One S won't play 4K UHD


    Evening,

    So I've had my Xbox One S pretty much since day 1, had no problems with 4K UHD blu-ray movies until this evening. I'm in the UK and recently ordered Arrival from the states, watched that the other night and switched off Xbox once finished. Tried to watch
    Angels & Demons in 4K UHD and was greeted with the blue blu ray screen but the app appeared to freeze. I restarted the Xbox, same problem so reinstalled the blu ray app. Now I'm greeted with error "Please try a different disc. We cannot play this one. (0x91d70001).
    I've tried other 4K UHD discs and get the same error.

    Did I brake my Xbox? I read online that 4K discs were region free so assumed there would be no problem playing it on my Xbox One S.

    0x91d70001 4k disc

    Hey,

    I've tried to play the 4k uhd disc of Inferno. But my xbox one s isn't able to play the disc. It shows me the error code 0x91d70001

    Every other 4k uhd disc works.

    Is there any solution for this?

    Total system crash on Xbox One S while running a UHD 4K BluRay & no ATMOS or DTS X.

    Dead pool UHD 4k disc does not play on the xbox one s. Goes back to home screen.

    Well two things first xbox one s is NOT a 4k console

    Second it's only when you play UHD movies or streaming UHD content that you get 4k from an xbox one s

    Projectors aren't the greatest for 4k compatibility it's more for.computers and blurays then consoles which are more stricter to vesa

    Unfortunately the Xbox one S is only really capable of maxing out at 1080p UHD. If you want the full 4k HDR experience you'll need the Xbox One X. I dont think there's a way of getting it to run even in 4k UHD on their S. The only 4k you'll get on the
    S is the streaming and video quality.

    Hi,

    I'm not sure if you are aware, but UHD colour just refers to HDR, not an UHD resolution. Enabling UHD colour won't automatically enable 4K resolution. Does your console report to be in 4K resolution? Does the OSD (on screen display) on your display/s
    show a 4K resolution I.e. 3840x2160?
