    Hi,

    i've recently move my xbox one s to my room, and been gaming on 1080p with the black bars on the side. I've recently found out i could play on 1440p, looked up how to do it, changed auto detect to HDMI, and selected 1440p. However, it doesnt output anything.

    Monitor Specs:

    Acer Predator X34 [UW-QHD] 34", 21:9 aspect ratio, max reso: 3440x1440p@100hz, and IPS.

    Currently using the HDMI cable that came with the xbox.

    Hi,

    There is your issue. Xbox One only supports 1440P on 16:9 aspect ratios (2560x1440).

    Xbox supports your vertical resolution (1440), but not your display's horizontal resolution of 3440.

    I have no idea if MS will support 21:9 aspect ratio's on Xbox One in the future, although I believe Series X will.

    when i change the override thing from Auto-Detect to HDMI, it comes up with a new video output - 1440p.
    It will only be 1440 on the vertical axis, not the full resolution your display is capable of.

    Also the X34 is a PC G-SYNC monitor, but the NVIDIA G-SYNC feature is only for PCs running NVIDIA graphics cards. While your monitor will work with console, you can't use one the key features of this monitor that you've paid so much for.

    I recommend replacing it for a different monitor more compatible with the Xbox One. As currently you can't use your monitors full resolution and you can't use G-SYNC as its for PCs. You can't use the features you paid for, unless you also own a gaming PC.
