    Xbox One S won’t do 720p nor 1080P


    My Xbox One S is not letting me select 720p or 1080p, it’s only allowing the 640x480p, which is coming through as terrible quality. I have an Xbox One that is connected to the same TV and is working perfectly on 1080P. I have tried reseting my Xbox One
    S as well as swapping HDMI cables and ports with my Xbox One, but nothings worked. I just got this Xbox One S from a friend (so this is my first time hooking it up) but they said it worked perfectly for them. Help

    Xbox Series X|S and lower resolutions

    The Xbox Series S/X only has a HDMI socket for display, so it will only support that display option. As for 720p or 1080p, it should support 1080p, but 720p is anyone's guess, as Microsoft haven't stated if it supports 720p or not.

    By "beamer", do you mean a projector? What is the model number of your projector?

    What is also the resolution you are running your Xbox at? 720p? 1080p? 4K (if an Xbox One S)?

    HDTV resolution settings problem

    Just choose 720p, since the 360's auto leaves a bit to be desired. The 360 may have selected 1080p because your TV probably accepts a 1080p signal, but downscales it to 720p. Since most 360 games run at 720p, that is your best option. Leaving it at 1080p
    means the games will have to be upscaled from 720p to 1080p, only to be scaled back down to 720p by the display. Doing that can only cause harm, to the picture quality.

    Weak 3d in Blu ray

    Actually my TV was in 720p mode and for some strange reason it doesn't have strong 3D and 720p mode but the 1080p mode is designed for 3D therefore the 3D looks better. As soon as I switched it to 1080p mode on the Xbox One S the 3D became more obvious.

    The only reason I have it set to 720p mode before was because my VGA CRT can run 720p but not 1080p, at least not run it's without chopping off part of the screen.

    The One S, as far as I'm aware, only supports resolutions 4K, 1080p, and 720p. So yes, it will work, but the only setting you'll be able to use is the 720p one. Though at 19 inches, that's probably sufficient.
