Xbox One S Won’t Display on TV

Hello! I went to turn on my Xbox One S the other day and it wouldn’t display on my TV, it would just say no signal. I checked the HDMI connection and even tried a different cord and different port and I got the same result. I know that my xbox is taking
power because my connected external hard drive is lighting up, but for some reason my controller isn’t. I have tried plugging the power cord into different outlets but that hasn’t worked either. I timed I

how long it took for the Xbox to auto shut off and it was 1 minute and seven seconds, which seemed a bit short to me. If anybody has any advice or potential solutions they would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to project an image on your TV.

Since you have already taken the liberty of trying cables, its likely that the resolution on your console may have been change, or is not supported by your TV.

What I would recommend is to attempt to
reset your display as this will allow your console to change to a lower resolution and thus allow you to configure it apporpiatly.

Give this a try and let us know if this works for you!

I tried that and it did not work. For some reason it only beeped once, never beeped twice. And I tried numerous times and a few different strategies and It did not work. Someone said on another forum that the Motherboards or HDD drives can sometimes fail,
Do you think this is possible?

I find my xbox one s working while set on dvi and 640p resolution. But no display on 1080p and hdmi.

Just to add i am using samsung smart 3d tv aand also tested my xbox one s on 2 other displays.. one pc monitor and one more smart tv

That's the issue right there, Prezdead! My TV auto detects the resolution being put out by the source and sets it accordingly. There is no way to set my TV's HDMI input to display a certain resolution regardless of what the source is putting out. My Android
box and Roku 4 put out a 4k signal when I enable the resolution they should output is 4k. Unfortunately, The XBOX One S doesn't seem to do that.

When I do the video test on the XBOX One. My TV doesn't even flicker. It just pops up that it failed everything, which is incorrect. If I change the resolution on the XBOX One S to 720p, then it flickers and my TV changes the display to 720p. If I change
the XBOX One S to display 1080p, then the TV flickers and changes the resolution to 1080p. If I try to change the XBOX One S to display UHD, it does nothing other than go instantly to the failed screen, which states none of the options are supported. Under
Advanced Video Settings though, I have 24Hz, 50Hz, and UHD 4k checked. the problem is, the XBOX One S is putting out the 4k signal because the test says the TV fails everything and the TV will not disaply in 4k until the TV receives a signal from the XBOX
One S to display in 4k.
