Xbox one S wont allow higher resolution

Hey guys!

I have bought a used Xbox one s months ago. It came with an DVI cable and a computer monitor, I recently decided to switch to a TV. But now its not allowing me to go into a much higher resolution than 640 x 480. I checked the 4k tv details and i have all
green check marks with exception to Dolby vision (I dont care about it). My TV is a 43" Vizio 4k Smart TV Model43-F1 If anyone can solve this problem for me i would be extremely greatful!

Wich way are you trying to connect your Xbox to your TV, via HDMI or DVI cable?

So the only benefit to the Xbox One X over the Xbox One S is the enchanced games and a higher resolution? Otherwise I might as well get the Xbox One S?

If you have a 4K TV you'll still be able to take advantage of the higher resolution provided by the Xbox One S.

720p resolution allows games to have higher FPS.

If you have a Xbox One S or regular Xbox One, these are limited to 1080p output during gameplay.

Only on 4K capable consoles can you get higher resolutions.

As for the display only being a tiny square on your screen: Check the Acer's on-screen menu settings for zooming non-native resolution images to full screen.
