  1. Xbox One S Wireless Connectivity Issue with Console and Wireless Controllers

No connection/pairing amid console and controller.
The system was working fine for a few months until I place a DVD in the console and got “twilight zone” fussiness on my Smart TV screen.
I ejected the DVD from the console and fuzziness gone but now unable pair devices.

I did some personal troubleshooting to no avail:

    ·
Controllers rechargeable batteries fully charged turns on to pair but only flashing white Xbox light

    ·
Tried using regular AA batteries to confirm not rechargeable battery issue and problem still exists.

    ·
Purchased another new wireless controller to confirm not controller issues (It did not work with console only flashing white Xbox light when try to pair it with console)

    ·
I can use mini Microsoft key/touchpad, purchased for the internet on Smart TV, for general Xbox input/scrolling but touchpad does not work for Xbox

    ·
FYI: Smart TV working fine with internet, streaming and cable

    Any solutions?

    :)

  2. Compatibility

are xbox 360 wireless controllers compatible with the new xbox one S console? Too, are the xbox one's games compatible with the xbox one S?

  3. Are xbox one controllers the same as xbox one s controllers?

You can use a regular Xbox One controller on an Xbox One S console, and you can use an Xbox One S controller on a regular Xbox One console.

All controllers connect to the Xbox console the same way, via proprietary RF.

If you are confused because of the addition of Bluetooth in the Xbox One S, just know that Bluetooth is only built into the Xbox One S controller (there is actually no bluetooth functionality in the Xbox One S console itself). The Bluetooth in the controller
is just a secondary method of wireless connectivity designed solely for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth (without the need of a
USB adapter). It connects to the Xbox One/One S the same way as the original controllers do.

  4. Xbox One S Wireless Connectivity Issue with Console and Wireless Controllers

I found a solution from Xbox Support tips after waiting for a response from the community for about five days. I thought I had covered all of the potential solution before coming to the community for help but overlooked this one that really solved the problem.

I performed a full power cycle reboots that reboots the console fully as referenced below and it worked. But not happy with the process I had to go through to get the console and controller communicating again. Wonder if other people feel
the same way that today's industries are moving away from being more customer centric as the technology we love becomes more of our lifestyle. Anyway Thanks for solutions 3 and 4,

Solution 3: Power cycle your console

A full power cycle reboots the console fully. Doing this does not erase any of your games or data.

Check out the video above, or follow the steps below to power cycle your Xbox One console:

    ·
Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button
on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds.

    ·
Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button
on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

    Then

Solution 4: Try connecting the wireless controller to the console again

    On the wireless controller

    ·
Hold down the wireless connect button until the Xbox button
    flashes.

    ·
Hold down the wireless connect button again.

The light in the Xbox button
on the controller will stay on, indicating that the wireless controller is connected to the console.

    About the controller connection

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. That is a great question. The console allows up to eight wireless controllers to connect to the console. The article entitled, "Connect
a wireless Xbox One controller to your console
" contains information about the Xbox One controllers. The article states, "You can connect up to eight wireless controllers to a console." We hope this helps!

Is it possible to use the "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10" on an XBOX One to Connect Wireless Controllers?

You probably mean the right thing, but the Xbox One does not use Bluetooth to connect controllers wirelessly, but a Xbox specific wireless communication protocol.

Since the console has this wireless protocol built into the special wireless module already, the Xbox One doesn't support the USB wireless connector.

    Try the
suggestions in the Wireless Controller Troubleshooter here
to hopefully fix your wireless controller issues.
