  1. Xbox One S wired speed slower than wireless?

My Xbox One S and internet connection have been fine since I purchased it. I came home 2 days ago and all of the sudden the internet connection is terrible. I use a wired connection directly to my xbox. My modem is working fine and the speed going to it
is still 200mbps. But when I run a speed test on my xbox it is only getting about 9mbps. When I switch it to wireless it gets around 100mbps though. I have always like wired since it is much faster and much more reliable, but I can't understand how this is
happening and why it randomly just started doing this 2 days ago.

I have restarted the modem and the Xbox several times with no changes. Can I get some help on whats going on and how to fix this?

    Thank you.

    :)

    Slow download speeds?

PC Wired is getting 26-30 Mbps, iPhone 4S 16 Mbps, and Xbox one (wireless) is only getting 4 Mbps. Any reason why my 2 year old cell phone would be getting better wifi download speed than Xbox one?? I know moving the xbox to wired would probably produce
better speeds, but why so slow with wireless?

  3. Xbox downloads Extremely slow

    Hi,

The download speed required for Xbox One is 3 MB/s or 3,000 KB/s. If the allocated network data for your device didn't meet this requirement, you'll encounter latency in downloading games. To resolve this, we suggest that you follow the steps provided on
    this
    link
on how to troubleshoot slow game or app downloads on Xbox One.

We also recommend connecting the console to a wired network. Using a wired network can help avoid interference that occurs when you're using a wireless network. This can help speed up the download process.

Keep us posted with the progress. We're here to clear things up.

    network download speed

Wireless connection will give you a slower connection speed then using a wired connection.

Ping / latency from UK 170 ms with wired broadband connection 12 Mbps d/l and 1 Mbps u/l

You don't say if you are using wired or wireless.

Your brothers stats look like he is using a wired connection which would explain his COD being less laggy.

If your connection is wireless then that is very unreliable. Wireless can cause slower speeds, packet loss, higher pings and lag.

From personal experience I have found BT hubs have terrible wireless.

I have had a homehub 2, homehub 3 and now a homehub 5. All of them had crap wireless. Speed are a lot slower via wifi than they are when wired. Also I get more packet loss and the ping is a bit higher.

If you are using wireless then you should try using wired to see if that makes a difference.

    Download games is very slow

I personally have not experienced slower than normal download speeds but I keep coming across different people complaining about theirs being slow. Like one of the other ambassadors mentioned there are numerous reasons that can cause slow speeds. One of
my buddies recently changed his set up from wireless to wired and he noticed an extremely faster download rate. If nothing else works its worth giving it a try.

Why is my xbox one download speed low?

Wi-fi is much slower than a hard wired connection.

You should always use a cable when possible

Xbox One supports up to Wifi N routers

Xbox Series support up to wireless A/C routers

    Wi-Fi Speed limit???

Don't worry there isn't a speed limiter installed on the Xbox 360 for either wireless or wired connections. The simple fact is, those sites are no where near accurate. I live a long way from you - In the United Kingdom, and I get measurements from HTML5
speed testing sites that are no where near my actual speed. I've tested it from my Xbox wired and wirelessly, and from my PC which is wired.

The tests I've done state my download speed is between 4 - 9Mb/s. My actual speed is more like 60Mb/s down. I get the same slow speeds recorded by the HTML5 speed test sites that you are getting. Sometimes they report much higher, mostly not.

If you're getting slower web browsing speeds on the 360's Internet Explorer compared to your PC, this is down the console and the browser, not your connection speed. As for the marketplace, it depends on how MS have configured their network and how many users
are trying to download the same thing.
