Xbox One S will not stay connected to wireless in instant-on

I just got a new Xbox One S and I cannot get it to stay connected to internet while in instant on mode. I have to disconnect from WiFi and reconnect every time I wake it up. I've tried power cycling the console and my modem and router and that doesn't resolve
it. The wireless remains connected while it is awake and I'm using it, but as soon as it is put in low power mode it loses internet. It still says it's connected to the wireless network, but there is no internet or Xbox live connection.

Any help would be appreciated.

Losing connection to Xbox Live while more than on Xbox One is connected

Sorry I missed out a vital piece of information - To get the wireless Xbox one to stay connected I had to enable one of the four 'guest' wireless connections on the router and dedicate that connection to the XBox one. Running the XBox on the main wireless
network caused it to disconnect if any other device connected, running it on its own dedicated guest connection allows it to stay connected until I enter a multiplayer game on our other Xbox One which is wired to the router.

The router doesn't seem to allow me to set a static IP Address for devices connected to the guest wireless networks, only the main wireless network.

Hey BlackthornWolfe! Does the same issue occur in Power-Saver mode? Additionally, does it occur with a wired connection? Give those a shot and let us know how it goes!

The issue does not occur in power save mode, as the wireless is disconnected on power off and then reconnected when it starts again, essentially resetting the connection each time it powers on as opposed to the constant connection with instant on.

I have not tried a wired connection yet, as the room it is in does not have a port, but I will move it and see if the issue persists.

this problem is related to the xbox one s and instant on (if you disable instant on its fine) the xbox one s has a different wireless card that the xbox one.. for this problem it shows slow speed when you do the network test...

so I got the new update today and I figured I would enable instant-on again to see if the problem was fixed. NOPE (kind of figured so) power up from sleep and got slow wireless speeds 1MB on the tests from the xbox one. disabled instant on and its fine (varies
from 60-140 or so but that's normal for wireless)..

is there anything else I should be doing to report this issue and get some kind of a bug id created for tracking????????

It seems there are some users that are having issues with the Xbox one S wireless connection related to the instant on function.

Maybe one work around for now is that you turn off the instant on function and try using the power save turn on option. It will take longer to boot each time but your wifi hopefully should work each time.

Hope this helps. Sorry it's only a temporary solution.

Just want to give a update on my situation: I activated ipv6 on my router and my xbox one s was able to connect to my wifi. After a day or two I received the same problem again and got disconnected and signed out from xbox live randomly.

I decided to try a wired connection to my xbox one s and so far I'm having no problems connecting and I have both consoles on at the same time with open nats. My original xbox is on a wireless connection. I will continue to stay on a wired connection so
I can confirm it must be a wireless issue affecting only my new xbox one s.
