Xbox One S Wifi Issues

Hello,

I've been having problems with my xbox one s wifi recently. This has started in the last month and a half or so. Currently, I have two xboxes in this house and only one of them is exhibiting symptoms.

Symptoms include:

* Difficulty logging in - it says "bye david" immediately after logging into my account. This may happen once or several times.

* Wifi drops - I'll be in a multiplayer game and the xbox will start to encounter lag, then drop. Sometimes, it just lags forever. I've gone to the settings after this has started and saw that the network disconnected, then reconnected.

* Telling me that the person who bought the game or app needs to sign in - this is not the 'home console', so if network drops all programs won't work.

The other xbox in the house, a non-s variety, has none of the problems that this one does. All of the other devices I've tried similarly have no issues with the network in the house.

Some things I've tried to fix it include:

* Setting up the router so that the troublesome xbox one is on it's own wifi network.

* Setting up the router so that the troublesome xbox one is on it's own freqency (5ghz, forcing everything else to 2.4)

* Factory resetting the xbox one. This seemed to fix it for some time, but the issue returned.

At this point it feels like the next step is warranty service, but I want to make sure that I have tried everything to fix it I can before I start that process.

Here's some other information that I saw in other people's posts:

What Country/State/Province do you live in?: Michigan/USA

Modem brand & model number: Cisco DPC3008

Router brand & model number: Asus RT-N66U

How many Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles are connected to this router?: 2 xbox one's. Issue happens whether or not they're both connected.

Wired or Wireless (for each console): Wireless

Things you have tried: See above

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown: Yes

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: No error, open nat.

Any Error Codes you encounter: See above

Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider): Charter communications

Any ideas to help?

Actiontec c2000a multiple console support

Need help troubleshooting wifi connectivity issues with my new xbox one s. I never had issues with my original xbox one, but after purchasing my xbox one s I get signed out or disconnected daily. I'm thinking this might be due to having two xbox one consoles
on the same network, but the issues persist even if only one of them is turned on.

Xbox One S Wifi Issues

Hey Mattyb.

To check, what type of network hardware are you using and is the firmware on that hardware completely up to date?

The network I'm currently using is BT Home Hub 3.B and as far as I'm aware everything is up to date. At the moment it has managed to connect just fine over the past 3 days, maybe it was because I reset the router after port forwarding the wireless MAC to
it. But still it's very strange why this console has had so much trouble connecting to the Wifi, were as everything else I've used in the past has been fine. Hopefully this has finally fixed it, since it's been a right pain for almost 3 weeks

just got my replacement console today mate, same issues sadly. Im on a virginmedia superhub 2ac, and i was speaking to a microsoft rep on live chat last night who stated that there has been quite a few people complaining about this problem recently. Mines
can go hours without disconnecting and it can go minutes. Beyond annoying now and seriously considering heading back to ps4 As no one knows the answer to whats going on.

Sorry to hear that mate. Mine just started doing it again after 6 days of working fine, i'm just going to go back to the original xbox one it's just not worth the hassle anymore.

Hey there David!

Does the issue happen when you connect using a wired connection? It doesn't have to be a permanent solution but this will help figure out if it's console or network. if you swap the console's location with your other Xbox One, do the issues persist?

If so, then I would tend to agree that your console may be in need of repairs. If that's the route you decide to take, you can explore that via the
Online Service Center.

I have both my Xbox One S and Xbox One X and the S works FINE.

The Xbox One X has a KNOWN WIFI issue which I thought would be fixed a YEAR later..

Don't try to troubleshoot me with all that Wifi wizard (Mod Removed - Profanity)

I'm back at square one again it was working perfectly fine when I set it up yesterday and come the next day, I turn it on and it won't connect. Even though it finally managed to only 20 minutes later, fast forward a couple of hours it constantly disconnected
me and it wouldn't connect at all. I just don't understand how when I turn off the Xbox S it has a hard time to connect to the router where as everything else manages just fine, at this rate I 'll just have to go back to my original Xbox One.

There is only one wireless router in the house, Ethernent isn't really an option since the router is downstairs. The troubleshooting steps I've tried have been:

- Power cycle reset

- Port forwarding the wireless MAC to the Router

-Hard resting the Xbox (holding power button for 8 - 10 seconds)

At the moment it hasn't been disconnecting from live, it's just when it boots up it's not automatically connected to the router and it takes some time for it to finally connect

Do you have your console set to Instant On or do you have Power Save enabled? If you're currently set to Instant On, try visiting Settings > Power and change to Power Save to see if there is any change when you boot up your console. Can you also share what
the make and model of your wireless router is? Thanks!
