Xbox One S Wifi Issues

I just recently got a Xbox one S for Christmas and everything was working fine, but since the 29th it has been very on and off with the Wifi connectivity. Every time I boot up the console it's not connected to the internet and most of the time when I try
to connect it sometimes takes forever or not at all, it's even started to constantly disconnect me from live which is really annoying now. But when I plug in my old Xbox one it works fine with no problems with the Wifi, I'm at a stand still at the moment I've
tried many thing to no avail, any help would be appreciated.

Need help troubleshooting wifi connectivity issues with my new xbox one s. I never had issues with my original xbox one, but after purchasing my xbox one s I get signed out or disconnected daily. I'm thinking this might be due to having two xbox one consoles
on the same network, but the issues persist even if only one of them is turned on.

Appreciate if you could give us a bit more information about your networking equipment, such as the make and model of your wireless router, along with the m/m of your modem (if this is not a single device).

Which type of security method are you using for your WLAN traffic integrity, WEP,WPA,WPA2, as well encryption, AES or TKIP?

Make sure you don't have WPS enabled.

If you have a dual band router, what frequency band do you connect your console with?

Do you have your console set to Instant On or do you have Power Save enabled? If you're currently set to Instant On, try visiting Settings > Power and change to Power Save to see if there is any change when you boot up your console. Can you also share what
the make and model of your wireless router is? Thanks!

 

For the record; Could you detailing out any troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, so we don't provide you with steps that may only echo back.

Do you have an additional wireless router?

Do you have the option to use an Ethernet cable with your console?

 

There is only one wireless router in the house, Ethernent isn't really an option since the router is downstairs. The troubleshooting steps I've tried have been:

- Power cycle reset

- Port forwarding the wireless MAC to the Router

-Hard resting the Xbox (holding power button for 8 - 10 seconds)

At the moment it hasn't been disconnecting from live, it's just when it boots up it's not automatically connected to the router and it takes some time for it to finally connect

 

Just a quick update, had to send the console back because it literally wasn't connecting to live at all today and yesterday. I just got to wait for a replacement, hopefully it's a hardware problem because everything works just fine on the Wifi it was just
the Xbox one S that just didn't want to know.

Just got my replacement console today, it connected without any problems and is running just fine at the moment. So fingers crossed it will stay that way, I'll post again if there any problems with the Wifi connectivity.

 

hi matty, sorry to highjack your post but im having the exact same issues. Is there any chance that when your console randomly disconnected, that it reconnected almost instantly? And kicked you from paty chat? Im going off my head with this problem as its
practically making it inpossible to play any sort of online game like fifa where you have a win/draw/loss record. Im also waiting on a replacement console. Fingers crossed your new Xbox works just fine.

 

Hi JPL, no worries I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's experiencing these problems. There was a couple of days where it was disconnecting like crazy, it would reconnect instantly for just a couple of minutes only for it to go off again. Which it would
keep doing for an hour or two before it finally sorted it self out. I know how you feel it was definitely very frustrating at the time, since I was wasn't able to download or play any multiplayer games at all. Anyway good luck on your replacement console,
so far my new Xbox has been fine. Hopefully we both had hardware issues with our previous Xbox's.

 

Yeah mate you werent alone, frustration levels are through the roof lol. My replacement should be here mid next week, i'll try get an update when mine arrives.

 

I'm back at square one again it was working perfectly fine when I set it up yesterday and come the next day, I turn it on and it won't connect. Even though it finally managed to only 20 minutes later, fast forward a couple of hours it constantly disconnected
me and it wouldn't connect at all. I just don't understand how when I turn off the Xbox S it has a hard time to connect to the router where as everything else manages just fine, at this rate I 'll just have to go back to my original Xbox One.

 

Doesnt sound promising mate! Im hoping mines works ok, but ive been seriously considering going back to an original xbox one as im thinking it the only option and i never had a single problem with my old one. I hope you get this sorted but im really glad
