    Xbox One S WiFi Connectivity Issues


    Hello,

    I'd appreciate some support with an issue ive encountered several times since purchasing a new Xbox One S in December 2020.

    The console consistently struggles to establish and maintain connection WiFi or Xbox Live.

    I didnt have such an issue with my previous Xbox One, nor do I for any other consoles or devices in the household.

    To date, I have rebooted the router, power cycled and restarted the Xbox, factory reset the console, all to no avail. The console is within round 10-15ft of the router and shows a strong signal at all times.

    The issue itself is sporadic, though increasingly occuring, to the point where the console and my associated Live Membership is basically unusable. Unfortunately a ethernet cable connection isn't a viable option. I have also changed the boot up from quick-boot to the energy saving option.

    I'd welcome any support on this matter! Thanks in advance.

    If I do the console reset option that doesn’t remove games and apps on the Xbox series s, does it still remove all accounts as well?

    Thankyou for the response, I have other things connected to my WiFi and are having no issues with them so my WiFi is on and working, I even pulled out my Xbox one and it’s having the same issues, I’ve reset my Xbox series s, and It won’t even let me finish the setup stages because it just simply won’t connect.

    might be worth testing you xbox one s connection wired see if you still get the same issues. If not then at least we know it is to do with the wifi.

    Did this console used to connect to your wifi? If so, I had a similar issue with my Xbox One and my Xbox One S too. I fully shut down the consoles, took them outside and used a can of compressed air to clear out the vents of dust. That seemed to do the
    trick and helped somehow fix the wifi connection on both consoles.

    What specifically would allow the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to connect while the built-in wifi would not?

    My Xbox 360 S detects a wireless signal with 4 bars, and I am testing it while sitting it right next to the modem, so there is no issue with signal strength.

    My Xbox 360 S's built-in wifi is able to connect to a hotspot, and it is even able to connect to my neighbor's wifi from my house.

    I had this issue. My Xbox s was hardwired but couldn't connect to live. I connected to WiFi instead and bam it works! good luck
