Xbox One S - Which HDR TV's?

I tried to send you a Private message yesterday but apparently it disappeared somewhere.

In short, there is only HDR Pro on this Samsung 6470. There is no UHD Color. Misleading and wrong from Samsung to keep the e-manual for TV models that are missing features in the manual.

 

Hey gfx1 I bought the Samsung 6470 as I returned an lg,it is UHD color as it says in the info bar at top of TV. I had a bit of an issue with vertical lines of colour popping up on the screen when I first set Xbox slim up with it,so I returned for an exchange
and the 2nd one was the same when enabled UHD color but after about 20mins it stopped and able to play games no issues,if I put cable in hdmi 2 no such issues as this doesn't support UHD color only hdmi 1 does,I contacted Samsung support via chat and seem
to think it could be a conflict in software of Xbox slim,I have noticed a lot of threads with people having different issues regarding HDR working with Xbox slim

 

So Samsung 6470 supports UHD Color in HDMI1? Way to be specific, Samsung.

 

On my Xbox 4K advanced settings all boxes are ticked using UHD color on in hdmi 1 so yes it works but I said I had issues with mine and got replacement but still the same as what I explained in my last post,something tells me that the Xbox slim software
isn't fully up to speed with the different types of HDR on TVs yet,or could be a tv software issue

 

Ok, that's good news that you have all the boxes ticked so that TV should have HW support since against all odds it has UHD Color featured. Hope you get the line issue sorted out through software updates.

 

Hopefully gfx1,I did a test before I unplugged the Samsung to and then plugged back in half hour later instead leaving on standby,I then turned on Xbox slim unfortunately the flashing lines of colour returned and then stopped a few minutes later,it's a very
strange issue as when tried it on lg tv UHD deep colour setting on with Xbox everything was fine none of the issues I'm having now,the cable shouldn't be a problem as its high speed,will either ring Samsung 2mrw or return TV, I have been thinking of the KS7500
but more expensive and bigger screen as only in small room I'm not sure

 

Done another test and tried Xbox slim in hdmi 2 and 3 and still getting same issue when turning off at socket,doesn't happen when putting tv in standby

 

Sounds like a weird problem. If it doesn't happen on other outputs, it's probably xbox or jacks. I'm sure Samsung can fix your problem. I have the KS8005 and can confirm at least everything works on that set. It had some problems too with flashing lines,
but they changed the LVDS cables inside a couple of times and now it's been ok.

 

It happens on all hdmi inputs,I even tried my laptop via hdmi and it does it,I'm taking it back this is the second one I've had. I was thinking of getting the KS7500 but it's bigger and more expensive,I just don't know if this is an issue with all samsungs
so don't know what to do

 

Yes, all HDMI inputs but is it a problem when watching TV or other source than Xbox?

 

No not when using TV source it's fine,yes it's a problem when I plug in my MacBook it still has issues

 

But know that HDR and Dolby Vision are two different, incompatible, color schemes for UHD TV sets. Most support HDR but some support Dolby Vision. There are a couple of websites I check for this kind of tech talk but I don't think we csn post links to
outside sites here. Most UHD tvs support HDR 10 but I've heard Dolby Vision is better. Xbox One does not support Dolby Vision, just HDR 10.
