Xbox One S - Which HDR TV's?

Right, I am having a nightmare trying to find a 40 inch 4KTV with HDR10 support and HDMI 2a. In short I cannot find any! Does anyone have or know of any TV's with those specs so I can buy it! What is the point of the Xbox One S with HDR if no TV's support
it! Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

  2. 1080P HDR support

    Hi,

Only the Xbox One S and the One X support HDR. HDR isn't linked to resolution, so, technically, HDR can work at 1080P. However, in the interest of not confusing consumers, Microsoft have locked HDR to 4K displays only, which is mostly industry standard
anyway. I'm pretty sure even 1440P doesn't support HDR on One S or One X either.

  3. Xbox One X Display Settings related to potential bandwidth limitations.

There's no official support documentation specifically about the Xbox One X yet.

However, I'd imagine it will at least have the same support for 4K+HDR carried over from the Xbox One S, the specifications and troubleshooting of which can be found below.

    ->

"Names for HDR10 HDR Premium, High Dynamic Range, HDR, UHD Color, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD deep color "

UHD Color is the Samsung equivalent of HDR10 and supported by the 40" Samsung TV model in the other thread. Look it up in the manual. The other guy mentioned also that he eventually got an LG, so there's another HDR supported 40" panel for your needs.

I have an Samsung UHD and it works on it. Also, the guys at Best buy said it doesn't require HDR 10. I have the 55" and it works great.

HDR 10 is the entry level. I googled it.

Hi, which Samsung UHD do you have?

I can only go to 43 inch max as I dont have the space.
Why would it say it is not available there if it does in the manual? So confusing.
Hi again.

They may saying that information is unavailable, not the feature, but it's all confusing.

To clarify something you mentioned earlier, I'm not an Xbox employee, I'm an Xbox Ambassador - community volunteers who help our fellow gamers out, that's why I ended up picking up your tweet and attempting to work this out with you.
the guys at Best buy said it doesn't require HDR 10.
That is not correct, the Best Buy employees you spoke with are wrong. Per the link GFx1 shared earlier, the official Xbox Support documentation clearly states HDR10 is required:

    Xbox One S - Which HDR TV's?

Muntz75, N/A is also for Not Applicable i.e. no answer. I checked your link, go to more and download the e-manual. Page 96 on the PDF says, that on this TV when UHD Color enabled, 10-bit is supported. By default it is not supported, hence you have to enable
the mode. UHD Color (Samsung) = HDR10 (Xbox)

Why don't you buy the TV and give it a whirl. At least you can return it if the manual for the TV has bs written in it. Works for me at least. Pop in a working 4K movie with HDR content or Netflix and "HDR Color is being displayed." appears.

    Hi GFx,

Thanks for the reply. I would love to go for the 43 inch you've linked there but I dont have that budget or the space for anything bigger than 40 inch sadly.

However, your point makes sense about having to enable UHD colour and I have seen it ticked off on the manual too. I will most likely buy this set anyway as its one of/if the best 40 inch I can find. Thanks.
