    XBOX One S Volume Control


    The volume control on my Xbox One S is not working. Let me walk you through everything, because its kind of confusing.

    I set up my audio receiver control in the settings. In the setup volume up, volume down and mute work perfectly fine.

    After I finish the setup process the only thing volume related that will work is mute. Volume up/down will not work at all, whether with smartglass, Xbox remote or the "X1 & X2" keys on the chatpad. Nothing is blocking my IR transmitter because mute, power
    off and power on works, and I even bought a new IR blaster thinking the existing one I had was old or incompatible or something.

    Does anyone have any kind of solution to fix this? I have scoured every post about this is that I could find and have found no solutions. Even Xbox support had no solution, telling me that I just needed to buy a new chatpad and remote, and re-install smartglass.
    All of their solutions were just them guessing at a solution. I did buy a new chatpad and a new remote because I am completely desperate to solve this problem.

    I am very willing to try any solution to this problem so please, if anyone has fixed this problem I would appreciate it so much if you could pass that knowledge onto me and anyone else who is having this problem.

    Why doesn't the Windows Volume Mixer have a separate volume control for the XBOX One App?

    I can control volumes for other apps. It would be nice to lower the XBOX App volume or even Mute it independently.

    Set up Xbox remote to control TV power and volums

    If you have an Xbox One S then you should be able to control the TV's volume etc

    If you are using the original Xbox One, then you will need to get an IR extender or make sure Kinect is connected.

    So to make this even more confusing to figure out. I just dug out my old xbox one s, fired it up and tested all the controller on
    it. The old ones still work fine. The black one that came with the new xbox series x works fine. The new style white controller that come with the new xbox series s and the new style black controller bought today from best buy BOTH have the headset low volume
    problem on my old xbox one s. Totally confused at this point.

    Thanks for your reply. Let me clarify my problem. There's no TV or remote-controlled amplifier in the system, that's why I would need to control the volume of the optical audio output of my Xbox One S. I'm sure it's technically (on hardware-side) possible,
    because I can adjust its volume in Spotify through my mobile's or PC's Spotify application.
