Xbox One S - USB ports!!!

Only two on the back and they moved the one from the side!!! Come on! Couldn't they put 4 on the back at least? The Kinect now uses one up too.

I have just connected a google chrome cast and usb light strip to the usb ports on my xbox one s is there anyway to turn the usb ports off when i turn my xbox off

I actually have a separate USB hub that I use to charge controllers and my Turtle Beaches so this is a non issue for me. I really only need the USB ports to be able to hook up my external hard drive and My racing wheel.

@J3rs3y Devil, looking at the back of teh Xbox One S two more USB ports would not have taken up that much more room. They also could have left one on the side. Do USB Controller chips take up that much space on a motherboard? I also would not be able to
leave anything plugged into the front on an Xbox One S as that would mean leaving the cabinet door open, so with my Kinect and TV adaptor I am left with zero ports and having to connect my external hard drive to the front every time I play. There is clearly
a need for multiple USB ports so why not include them rather than people having to make an extra purchase?

Just sold the old XONE two weeks ago. Couldn't be perfect timing!!! I have the elite and scuff one controller still. The only issue is whether or not I will get the 2TB and a new headset so I can take advantage of the Bluetooth capabilities!!! FINALLY!!!
I do have a 2TB external HDD from Seagate at about 18% of space used and I will be ordering a XONE compatible USB HUB. I have been procrastinating since XONE day one release day to pick one up.

@vikingland - I am interested, but if its not adding and in fact taking away from my current setup then there's no point. MS's lost sale....

@COD 2 HALO - beware, if you are expecting audio over Bluetooth IO dint thin that has been stated, its just to link the controller.

They're not adding.
Let's scrap all of the S consoles already made and redesign the whole thing because someone on the forums wants another USB port.
If its not for you, don't buy it. Microsoft already has your money.

Make very sure you're in the right USB port if you have an Xbox One without a dedicated Kinect port (like an Xbox One S or Xbox One X)!

The Kinect--even though it has a power adapter--needs consistent voltage in its USB connection too, and only the USB port on the Xbox labeled "Kinect" provides it (that's the port closest to the HDMI I believe.) A POWERED USB hub may work too.

But... plugging the Kinect into one of the other two USB ports--or a non-powered USB hub--will cause problems -- either a warning to plug it in the right port... or intermittent connection issues... or a failure to be detected at all.

Can you check if a prankster plugged an USB keyboard emulator into your console?

Maybe a small plug was added to your console that acts like an USB keyboard sending those key presses to any text input field.

Check all the USB ports. Depending on the model of the Xbox, there is a USB port on the left side on the older Xbox Ones, and several USB ports on the back.

On the newer Xbox One S and X models, the USB port is in the front and several on the backside. Remove any unknown dongles and plugs. Or if you have an USB hub to connect multiple USB devices to an USB plug, check the Hub for foreign plugs as well.

The Old Xbox 360 has 3 USB Ports, this means one on the back and two on the front.

The new Xbox 360, the slim, the same as I have (Xbox 360 S), has three USB Ports on the back and two on the front, but mine didn't require the Network Adapter as it was Built-in.

I presume you have a older Xbox 360, this means you have 1 USB port on the back and 2 on the front.

You have 3 USB ports
