Xbox one s upnp unsuccessful

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is what your Xbox uses to set up your router for multiplayer gaming and chat. If you see “UPnP Not Successful” in your console’s Network settings, first check to see if your router needs
an update. If your router has the latest manufacturer update:

Log in to your router’s setup webpage, and make sure its UPnP setting is turned on. You can usually find first time help with this in the router manual or on the manufacturer support site.

Turn the UPnP setting off, and save your changes.

Restart your console, your modem, and your router.

Turn the UPnP setting back on, and save your changes. If there’s a Zero Config setting, make sure it’s turned on as well.

Restart your modem and router.

Once you reset your router, restart your console, and check your
Network settings again to make sure the UPnP message us gone.

If UPnP still isn’t working, or it isn’t supported on your gateway/router you can also try using the router’s DMZ, Port Forwarding, or Port Triggering features.

hi I've been trying to figure out this same thing for quite a while now (about 1 yr) and when I first started reading this whole post I had to check repeatedly to make sure that I wasn't the one that started it. only recently was I able to get at&t to admit
that the hardware they sent me (5286ac) is not compatible for UPnP. why they wouldn't just tell me that last year I don't know and if I had other options I'd drop em quicker than
[Mod Removed- Profanity] but I don't. I've tried all troubleshooting steps for xbox, Microsoft, at&t, and EA. and by this point none of them want to help me anymore so they just blame it on each other, until last week. I called at&t asked em
to enable UPnP because I was told that if the option to turn it on or off isn't in router settings to call ISP and tell them to turn it on 4 me so I did and guess what, they had no idea what the
[Mod Removed- Profanity] I was talking about and had to transfer to a specialist only to tell me the hardware doesn't support it and that is the only one available to me. is this true? PLEASE tell me it cannot be I have at&t gateway 5268ac.
I was thinking I may have messed up when "messing" with router settings. I have specific details if someone can help I don't want bore anyone or take up someone else's post. I've made quite a few and don't get any further than "have u tried doing power cycle?"
type responses. I'm sorry, please,and thank you.

Bet you have AT&T u-verse. Right? I think this is starting to apply to their DSL service too. Basically, their modem/gateway devices no longer support upnp. Also (at least on fiber), their ipv6 network is heavily filtered and icmpv6 is completely blocked,
which breaks ipv6. Far as I can tell, you will never reliably get your xbox one working right on an ATT connection. Best thing is to get another provider.

I have dsl through at&t u-verse (which is switching to at&t internet) and their c.s. ppl couldn't even tell me what service I had for a quiet a while. Do you think satellite Internet would be better in this situation? No one else will provide Internet
for me other than hughes-net.

I tried the first troubleshooting article and my internet provider (att) doesnt have a place to disable/enable UPnP. I tried to talk with them about how to fix it and they just kept transfering me to other tech support and then they tried to say
it was a manufacturer issues. From what i have read, it is not that, it only has to do with the router setting. What I still dont understand is why my xbox one s isnt work when my xbox one did just 2 days ago! Did i mess up the setup process or something?
I dont know how to do the other two troubleshooting bullet points that is beyond my expertise.

Hey Agreg thanks for keeping in touch!

We suggest trying a reset of the console since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a
Soft
Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps)
IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

There is a stable network connection.
The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

That still didnt work. Could this be a microsoft manufacturer issue?
