Xbox One S Unable To Download/Update Games And Apps

Yes, I have tried disconnecting the external hard drive and downloading just on the internal hard drive. Didn't work.

Unfortunately, my internet is Wi-Fi only (Boingo Wireless) so I am unable to use an ethernet cable to test.

I ran another network speed test and the results were:

• Download speed: 54.32 Mbps
• Upload speed: 52.78 Mbps
• Packet loss: 0%
• MTU: 1480
• Latency: 19 ms
• Wireless strength: 100%

Doesn't seem to be any problem there.

EDIT: Changing the port and DNS settings seems to have fixed the issue (for now at least).

Now all I have to do is download everything again...

if there is always an external storage device connected be sure to try to see what happens when it's not connected.

If your console is connected via wireless to the internet be sure to try and see what happens when connected via cable, if the console is already connected by cable also try and see if there is a difference when using a different cable.

Also run the network speed test on the console to see if that shows any issues.

Sorry to hear it. Please try using the Beta App to update the games if the Store app is not working. If you are unable to download the Beta App then make sure your PC is up to date with no pending updates

I have an Xbox Series X and an Xbox One S. I have restarted both consoles multiple times. I cannot even download the game on my One S. On the Series X, I was able to download "something" by clicking on the tile in my games inventory, but the result is only 74GB instead of the 96GB shown in the MS store.

How do I get help with this? I am unable to play the game on the Series X (I get an error that I am too early, even though I purchased the Ultimate Edition), and I am unable to download anything on the Xbox One S.

Can anyone help?

With issues like these, I would recommend trying the following solutions:

Clear MAC address: Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

Remove and re-add your account: Settings> account> remove accounts> remove your account.

Clear local saved games:Go to settings on your Xbox>Select system>Select storage>Clear local saved games and your console will automatically restart.

Note: When doing this step please make sure that you always play online so that all your data is saved to the cloud.

If the issue still persists after going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 10-15 seconds plug all your cables back in and then restart your console.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console: Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note: The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.
