  1. Xbox One S - UI runs super slow sporadically, factory reset going on 20 hours to complete

    Hello!

I got an Xbox One S around Christmas time and it worked great until around a month ago. I listen to Spotify a lot in the background of games and once every other day or so I'd get this terrible loud slowed-down version of the song that was playing, like
it was lagging really badly. Turns out it was the Xbox and not the network, as the game would freeze and the UI would be incredibly slow to come up and not responsive at all (maybe taking 3-4 second to process controller movements).

This kept happening more and more, with and without Spotify running in the background. Games freezing more, home menu running slower more often, so I finally decided to factory reset it yesterday afternoon (leaving games and apps
on console) and use my other Xbox from 2014 (which works perfectly fine). It got the "preparing console" ticker to around 50%, then hit a black screen. So I assumed it was working on itself without a screen. Left it on all night - still black screen.

Currently at work right now but wanted to know if anyone had any ideas or if they've experienced a similar issue. It seems insane that a newer console that's only 3 months old would have these problems.

    Thanks!

    LJC

    :)

    3 hard resets since update...?

I've had to do 4 hard resets. It doesn't turn my tv,dish or receiver on anymore. I got a black screen upon exiting Titanfall. And IE works sporadically . All I can say is what the heck is going on with my Xbox One? Am I going to have to do a factory reset?

    Super odd.

    Hi there,

We appreciate you reaching out to us with this issue. A black screen isn't normal operation for a factory reset. We recommend power cycling your console to see if you can get this process completed. Let us know how that goes.

After update my Xbox is really slow to start and games are timing out before loading

Yeah I'm having the same issue when I updated my Xbox 1 S. Everything got slow and laggy. Roblox even takes forever to load than normal. Plus I have graphic glitches in YouTube and other streaming apps. Idk if it's due to having an old console or what. It worked 100% fine before the update and now it's super slow. Some games run normal and others are super laggy or take forever to load. Same with apps. Please let me know if theirs a fix. I even tried factory resetting as well and still no luck.

The Xbox One Home Screen is too Cluttered and Slow.

Appreciate for what it is right now.

I've had Xbox 1 since Day 1. I even went to the NZ Midnight Release. When it launched, Xbox 1 had more like a Windows 8 UI. Now that was super slow. It took like 30 seconds to open up one app like avatars. And no it's not our internet/ISP or Microsoft servers.
It's how they make the software, though your internet does play a part, so do does the software.

Xbox 1 currently has like a Windows 10 like UI. It's too good and fast to be called a Windows 8 like UI. And in my experience, it's super faster than what the UI was like at launch.

Yes I also enjoy Xbox 360's UI too. It's more kid-ier, which is why I like it. It also has a much stronger emphasis on our Xbox Avatars too, especially in Xbox 360's Social tab where it effortlessly shows our avatars, your friends avatars, and you can view
all the XBL Parties you and your friends are in and see their avatars in them too. Also Xbox 360's Quick Menu/Xbox Guide is genius too ^u^. You can go to it while playing games too.

The clutter on Xbox 1's current UI is only a bit cluttered to me when you go to the Activity Feed section. But other than that, I'm fine with it.
