    Xbox One-S UI/Controller Input Lag--Is this normal?

I just got a brand new Xbox One S (the Sea of Thieves free game edition) and I'm a first-time Xboxer, so I don't have any frame of reference other than what I've been used to with all of the PlayStation platforms thru PS4. I've noticed a lot of button-press
lag since the first time I turned on the system--primarily while navigating around all of the menus. I'll press "down" or "A" and find that I've over-shot and have to press B to go back and then B will lag and I've gone back too far, etc.... It's not constant,
but frequent enough that I'm already posting the question in Support.

I played all the way through Quantum Break and didn't experience any input lag during the game--likewise during my limited time with Sea of Thieves. I did try Fable Anniversary and I get serious lag when trying to press "A" to continue after talking to
    a character or inspecting an item--but maybe that's because it's a 360 game I downloaded?

In short---Is this just normal and simply a part of how Xbox runs and I just have to get used to it/live with it?

    :)

  2. I am experiencing input lag on brand new Xbox One S

a couple weeks ago, my original xbox console developed huge input lag, and after trying everything and all troublshooting steps including but not limited to: different controllers, different hdmi cable, different tv, factory reset, clearing persistant
storage, clear mac address, factory reset, tried playing offline, i concluded the fault was with the console.

I bought a new xbox one s recently, and the input lag has been reduced by 80% but i still feel some left. I have no idea what on earth is causing this or how to fix it. I haven't changed any settings on the console, and I haven't changed my TV settings
for ages, so I don't know. The new xbox one s controller has tougher sticks to move, more stiff, but even when i use my old controllers, i can still feel the problem. The lag is especially noticeable when making small incrementing movements with my gun, and
i am having difficulty tracking moving targets.

I thought maybe there is something wrong with my profile, or perhaps some sort of wireless interference is messing with my console, but people I ask say this is impossible.

Also, just today, I loaded up my old original xbox one console just to see if it still has terrible input lag. I hadn't loaded it up for about a week and it's just been sitting there. Anyway I loaded it up, and I realised the input lag had IMPROVED
to the same level of input lag as the new Xbox One S! How does that make any sense? The input lag on both consoles are both worse than before all my problems began, but how did the original console improve? I also changed my home console to the new xbox one
s before I noticed this improvement, so I don't know if that shows that it might be some sort of account issue.

So basically: There was no noticeable input lag on my OG xbox one before these problems began. Then one day I went to play a game, and discovered HUGE input lag. a couple weeks later, I buy a new xbox one S console. The input lag improved by a lot,
but there was still some left, but my OG console continued to have lots of input lag. Fast forward another week, and my OG console has magically improved to the same level of input lag as my new xbox one S.

Also, I am able to accurately test input lag, by turning the sound up on my TV speaker, and turning my headphones on. I can measure input lag by how delayed the TV sound is in comparison to the headphones.

Any help at all is really appreciated because I have no idea what on earth is going on.

September 15th Update (Forced update on 19th September) has severely impacted my Xbox One's performance!

I bought the Xbox one S Fifa 17 bundle yesterday. And since then i've witnessed this as well. Lag just throughout the whole Xbox UI. Even ingame i cant play it properly. Is there a fix yet?

To make sure, want to try out two guides. The first one
    here
deals with slow performance issues on the Xbox One console.

While for the second guide, we want to make sure that the controller is fully up to

    Elite Controller Input Lag

This is interesting. Do u happen to know if while playing wired, the elite controler has the same input lag as a normal wired controller? Or does it continue being a wireless operation, but is charging?

    keyboard and mouse?

Unfortunately, Hydro Skillet's on the money. There's no generic driver for USB input devices that aren't the Xbox One controller or the Kinect. You'd figure somewhere in that 5GB NAND space they could spare a few KB for a reasonable keyboard or mouse driver,
even if it were unusable in games. Just having them to navigate the XB1's UI would be a godsend.

Does the battery level affect the controller's input lag?

    Hi

This should make no difference to the performance of the controller if you are experiencing issues with the controller can you please follow this

    troubleshooting guide
. I would also try following the
    network troubleshooting guide
as this can sometimes cause input lag issues.
I have already tried those solutions, without, unfortunately, solving anything. The input lag is light, but, unfortunately, I can notice it., it happens also offline, but only when the battery (which I tried to replace), is halved. I do not know if this is
normal and it is I who can perceive the minimum input.
