Xbox One S TV Settings inaccessible, also startup issues

Hello. I'm a Day One Xbox one owner and recently bought an xbox one S for my second home. Unfortunately, when I go to the TV section in settings and click on something (i.e., "device control") it goes to the app store and says "ms-xbox-tvsettings not found"
(not exact, but something like that). This is really frustrating since I cannot use the included IR blaster to control my TV.

Problem #2: I will often turn on the xbox S controller and it will flash but the xbox one S will not turn on. After some time I can manually turn it on and this works, but it goes to the green startup page. I have it on instant-on and have not lost power
to my house or anything a longer those lines.

Please help or let me know if you have had similar issues. I know I can factory reset, but this is incredibly frustrating after spending a lot of money on a new console and time downloading all of my games again. Thanks.

Device Configuration Process

Hi there, this process should let you change your tv settings

Xbox One in Settings > Power & Startup > TV & A/V power options

 

Vizio TV keeps turning off

Have you set the Xbox One to control the power toggle of your TV? If so, it will send a signal to your TV to toggle the power state of the TV. Basically, if your TV is On before turning on your Xbox One then the signal sent to the TV will turn it off. If
it is Off before turning on your Xbox One, then it will turn On the TV.

Check the settings to see if this is the case. It should be under Settings -> Power & startup -> Power mode & startup -> TV & A/V power options

I'm really sorry to hear about the issues. I know it's definitely not ideal but I would definitely recommend performing a

factory reset of your Xbox One S console. There are two options, I suggest starting with the option that allows you to keep your games and apps. If that doesn't work, please try the second option.

Again, I know it's not ideal but do give that a shot and let us know how it goes.

 

Thanks, I did not realize I could reset without deleting all the games/apps. I'll let you know if it works.

 

OK, that was actually quite painless, only took a couple of minutes and now it is IR blasting to my TV/Receiver just fine! Will let you know with some time if the controller connection is consistent now as well.

 

So, TV settings are working fine. Unfortunately, a lot of the time xbox doesn't start when I turn on the controller. I then have to manually turn it on and it is apparent by the time it takes to load up that the system was completely shut down instead of
in standby. I haven't lost power as far as I can tell. Any thoughts? I just tested shutting it down and then turning on controller and it worked fine.
