    Xbox One S - TV does not recognize the Xbox when it is turned on


    We have the Xbox One S. When we power up the Xbox, the light in the Power On button lights up. However, TV does not recognize that it is connected to the Xbox. After about 5 min, the xbox shuts off.

    It is not the cable as we tried 3 different HDMIs, which work on other devices, no luck. We brought to another TV hooked it up there, with good HDMIs, no luck. We tried holding the Power on Button in for 20 sec, and also tried the Power On button with
    the disc eject button, no luck on either of those.

    Any suggestions?

    I have a Sharp LC-50n6000u which is owned by Hisense. Materials that came with TV say it has HDR Processing but as others here have said, The Xbox One S does not recognize it.

    I just got an X1 box and my Xbox One cannot recognize it to interact or control live tv. (I can view TV through the xbox but can't change channels, use the guide, etc)

    The problem is that the Xbox knows it has connected with the stb by turning it off, and this X1 stb does not turn off. (its remote does not turn it off at all, it just eventually puts itself to sleep).

    I'm having the same problem. My TV is not recognizing the xbox one thru hdmi but it recognizes the cable box and computer. I've tried different hdmi ports on different TVs, it's not working properly. Somehow the xbox one can still turn on and off the TV.

    the xbox does not support cec or hdmi control, you would need to go to tv setting on the xbox and setup tv control again as it may have lost the code, the xbox controls tv's via infrared only.
    I have this same issue, I just got my Xbox One X, and set up the Xbox to control my TV as well, and the Xbox says it recognizes my TV and is controlling it, and will turn itit onon and off, but when it comes to controlling the volume nothing will happen.

    You have to change the TV to "Game Mode". Then you can access the HDR options on the TV to turn it on. Then the Xbox One will recognize it.
