XBOX ONE S - Turns on then off Immediately

When I press the on button:

1. the Xbox starts up with the on beep
2. The button light dims; and
3. Then it shuts down with off beep 1-2 seconds later.

Have detached the external hard drive and tried disconnecting the power for several mins.

I can't do a factory reset as the machine won't stay on for more than 2 seconds, regardless of what buttons I press.

Try holding down on the small button underneath the xbox logo on the console and that xbox button on the console until it starts flashing then wait until the light is solid and isn't flashing.

Do you have an Xbox One or Xbox One S? The reason I ask is because the S doesn't have an external power supply, only a power cable.

If your Xbox One console won't turn on, your power supply may be faulty or improperly connected, or there may be another reason. Try the following solutions.

• Check that the wall outlet you are using is working with other devices.
• Check that the power cable is firmly connected to the wall outlet and to your console.
• Ensure that you're using the power cable that came with your console, and that it's the correct cable for your region.

Try a power cycle. Hold the button down for 10 secs.

Or un plug for 10 mins and try again.

Also check the power lead.

Also check that fans are not covered.

I have a similar situation. My Xbox One S turn on and immediately turn off again. I tried to rest the console but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
