    Xbox One S turns off as soon as a disc is inserted...


    As per title since 2 days whenever I try to insert a game disc (I actually didn't try yet with other kind of media discs...) the console immediately turns off.

    As soon as I eject the disc it turns on again and works normally...

    What on Earth is going on here? Xbox One S turns off as soon as a disc is inserted... o_O

    Backward Compatibility problem

    Hi

    I bought mass effect today to try out on my xbox one. As soon as i put the disc in, it was making a noise as if it did not regonise the disc. A message popped up saying make sure you have inserted the correct disc. After a couple of goes, i finally managed
    to install the game and turn off my xbox one.

    Later, as soon as i powered up my xbox, it started making the same noise, and the same message came up. After about four tries, i finally got the game to run. Has anyone else had this problem. It has nothing to do with my drive because my xbox games and
    dvds work fine.

    Xbox 360 turning off

    My xbox 360 turns off whenever a game is played. I can watch Netflix, DVD's and putz around for as long as I like, but as soon as I try to play a game, either on disc or one I've downloaded it turns off within seconds.

    Changing power plug solved the issue. Xbox One S turns off as soon as a disc is inserted... o_O

    Hiya!!



    Does this happen with any disc that you put into the drive or just one particular disc? If it happens with any disc, it's possible the drive has become faulty as they do wear out over time. You could try some compressed air to blow out any dust that may
    of accumulated inside but if that doesn't work, it's prolly the drive itself. XBOX 360's will definitely be out of warranty so you would need to find an outside source to have the drive replaced for you.

    I have the same issue. Only started happening 2 days ago. I have changed power supply cable - as it was suggested in previous Microsoft advice, still does not work. In fact every so often Xbox turns itself off on powerup.
