Xbox One S turning on but not working

So I came home from school and decided I want to update a game while I’m outside but as I turned it on it started at a light grey screen.... so I waited about 5-10 minutes. After those 5-10 minutes I turned it off and then turned it back on and it did the same thing. So I went on with my day and went outside. After coming back from outside I tried it again towards the night time because I wanted to give it time to refresh. So from there on I was working on how to fix it and looking up videos but none of them seem to work. As I was trying the methods such as checking for any visible damage I turned it on and my screen was red. Then I turned it off then back on then a different color. This happened about 5 times that night(different colors as well.)(spent 2 hours and went to sleep after that) By the way I’ve only had this Xbox One S for 2 1/2-3 years and it already seems out of warranty while my Xbox 360 is still working perfectly fine.

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I am sorry to know about the console situation; However, I believe your console might need just a system refresh to perform the system update successfully. I would like you to go through the following steps to perform a quick power cycle.

I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

If you are still getting the same issue, I would like you please to kindly follow the instructions below to physically reset your console:

- Turn off the console unplug all the cables then re-plug them back again.

- Since the console is an all digital one, click on the "Bind" button, after 10 seconds click the home "X" button just once without letting go of the button. Throughout the whole process you will hear two beep sounds and end up with a troubleshooting page. On your screen. You will need to select the "Reset this Xbox" option and choose "Reset and keep my games and apps".

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

In case all previously mentioned troubleshooting steps weren't helpful, the next solution would be to perform an offline system update. In the link below you will be directed to everything you need to know about the offline update and how to run it.

What I did was turn off reciver while tv and xbox one s was running, restart xbox one s while reciver was off, tv was on and hdmi chain went thru reciver, tok the check and all checks went green and everything worked, got HDR and 4k, then i just reset my
xbox one s, turned on my reciver, and all checked out fine and worked fine still. I have yamaha rx-a2050

I have a similar situation. My Xbox One S turn on and immediately turn off again. I tried to rest the console but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Yes I did why would my one s work and the series x not work??? Why did it turn it off once and not again? Turns it on just fine!
