    Xbox One S to Onkyo Reciever Issue


    Hey folks,

    This may be oureky related to my reciever and not the console, but have had no luck searching online. Having a strange connection error between my Xbox One S and my Onkyo reciever. They are hooked up using HDMI cable. During play or frequently on startup,
    my TV displays "no input" when reciever and Xbox connected. If I wait long enough, (5-10 minutes), the connection is restored. The game is unaffected, and is right where I left off.

    Had anyone had this issue before? I am not sure what information you may need so please reply with what you need and I will answer quickly. This doesn't harm my gameplay during pause-able games, but I cannot play online for fear of this issue. It is also
    simply extremely annoying.

    Happy To Say

    After purchasing a new 3D TV, along with a new Onkyo AV Reciever, and a new Bluray that all is finally well.

    I had some HDMI problems with the Handshake from my new Starwars Edition X Box and the Onkyo Reciever...



    Folks here suggested it was the Onkyo that was causing the problems..i did have a hard time believing that one..BUT..

    The first Onkyp reciever had a dead right chanel ..Great.. It was replaced with one that after a few days was dropping sound..

    So..That one went back as well, and was rep[laced with a new Sony AV reciever...

    Since that day, two weeks after replacing all my equipment, all is well..

    It seems that the support people here were correct about Onkyo having many problems lately... My older(non HDMI) Onkyo 601 worked flawlwss for 9 years, and still does...



    Thanks for all the help here ..



    now..What to do with my old 46" Rear projection, Onkyo 601 reciever, and Onkyo DVD player ?

    Atmos not Working in Bluray App

    I have the exact same problem. Xbox one S with an Onkyo Atmos Surround System (S5800). The reciever shows atmos when using the demos from the app and netflix, but not any of my atmos blu rays. I'm assuming this is a software issue with the blu ray app, so
    I hope they patch it soon.

    Still no Dolby Atmos for my Onkyo TX NR797

    Its an issue with the Xbox as my ps4 gives me zero issues with my reciever and play atmos on everything that its compatible with, discs or streaming
    If that was the case, then it should have been working with my Roku Ultra for Netflix, Prime and Disney +.

    But sadly, same issue with Roku too - No Atmos on any streaming..

    BTW - Firmware is up to date on Onkyo .

    Just for additional clarification @leatherface24 - Do you get to see 'Dolby Atmos" on Onkyo797's display when streaming content from PS4? Is it also available as a listening "preset" on Onkyo?

    (Since I can only see Multichannel as an option in my case)

    Onkyo receiver not working with Xbox One

    I was having the same issue. I just got my Onkyo 626 to work with Xbox One by choosing Onkyo TXNR616 as the model.

    Hello, I just bought the Onkyo TX-NR797 as well, I am having the exact same issue as you are, no Dolby Atmos in games, The Onkyo i used to have did atmos with no problem. I can get
    Atmos to work when I put in a UHD disk, but that's all. I call Onkyo and they blame Xbox, then I call Xbox and they say it's Onkyo.lol...I am hoping a patch would come from one of them. I am debating on returning this receiver because of this. Did you ever
    find an answer? Did you keep you're reciever? If you returned it, what did you pick up and does it work..I can't beleave there is no list of what receivers are not compatible.

    Still no Dolby Atmos for my Onkyo TX NR797

    Plug the roku directly into the reciever if you havent already. My reciever is up to date as well and streams atmos and vision with the roku plugged into it and yes, the ps4 pro shows atmos on the reciever for everything that supports it.
    I am sure then its an issue with my Onkyo unit. I have Roku plugged directly into receiver and cannot see Atmos as an option on the receiver - Will try and post pics
