Xbox One S ticking sound from fan

I posted here earlier about an issue with my OG Xbox One. But, this is about a seperate issue to do with my One S.

Because of the ahem, "fault", with my Xbox One, I bought an S. I've had 2 and had to return them up to this point as they had the same issue. An annoyingly weird ticking sound coming from the fan. I read up that a lot of the launch S's had this same issue.

I'm on my third one and it's doing the same thing. It's driving me absolutely nuts. The 3 S's were from Argos, so maybe they have a bad batch? It was the same bundle, so idk.

Any ideas on what to do?

Hi Zerutso,

Thanks for letting us know you were able to get a return. It will get hot in between fan cycles. Also make sure you have the console in a well ventilated area. If you are not getting any overheat warnings I wouldn't worry to much. Here is a link that goes

over ventilation. Personally my consoles also get warm to hot. Usually hot when playing AAA rated games.

Thanks for coming to the forums. You are doing the correct thing in returning them. If you do suspect the store has a bad batch, you can try out the

repair as Ozzane mentioned. This will go through Microsoft and should get a different one.

Sometimes fans do sound like that. It's nothing to worry about. It's just noisier than most fans. It's still doing it's job, keeping the console cool.

I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue. This seems to outside the realm of service that can be handled on the forums.
