xbox one s - system update failing

We tried to use our xbox one s console on the weekend and it had to do a system update. It downloaded fine but failed during the verification stage. tried again and still failed. error code 0x8B05000F 0x00000000 0x90070007. Looked on the forum and found
that a factory reset might work, but no luck with that, now it fails in setup trying to do the update. Same error code and fails again during verification. Seems we can't use it now until we can fix the issue.

The console is about 7 months old.

It looks like many others have the same issue, is there any known fix for this yet?

The system update that is trying to install is failing validation during the system update file verification.

Solution:

To resolve this issue, you will need to install the Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool.

System update failing

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

ive tried, holding power button till off completely then restarted, it has been unplugged multiple times ones over night and downloaded again. Its my brothers console, so its been tried on 2 different internet connections. I've done a console reset offline,
as I can't get online. We've tried the system update about 7 times. Do you think doing a hard reset will do it?

update support guide and it will hopefully help you to complete the update on your console. Please not using the offline update in the link below may not work if you are in the Xbox Insider program, If you are in the Xbox Insider program you may with to

Thank you both for the suggestions. gds1972, I did the offline update using a USB as suggested in the "update support guide", all worked and back up and running now. Really appreciate your help! Cheers.
