    XBox One S supports 4k, but Netflix/Amazon doesn't recognize, Plex/MediaPlayer just a ...

My Xbox One S was a breeze to set up, and it correctly identified my 4k set and the 4k advanced settings show that all 4k resolutions are supported (except HDR10, which is correct). However, Netflix doesn't show 4k content (though various media outlets claim
it is now enabled), nor does Amazon (I don't think they've updated), but I'm also trying to play 4k content from my Synology via Plex or the built-in Xbox Media Player, but the video output just shows a bright green screen (while the audio plays).

Is there a blog/feed/notice somewhere where I can verify 4k support ? At this point, I just want to verify my system can play 4k content, but I can't seem to get anything rolling.

I have the 2TB Xbox S (of course), and the TV is a Samsung UN55HU6840

    :)

UHD bluray problem XBox one S

I am having the same experience as ItsParN. I have the Samsung UHD 7250. The smart hub Netflix and Amazon are in Ultra HD when streaming. The Xbox One S dashboard is in 4k or upscale 4k except the Ultra Blu Rays that I try. When I put those in it goes
back to 1080P. Advanced video options in the settings show green check marks for my tv 4K options. The Xbox One S Netflix app doesn't not show the 4k Ultra content. Neither does the Amazon app.

Green Screen while playing 4K Content?

I have the Xbox One S and enabled 4K UHD in the settings with a Sony Bravia 55" x700d 4K TV with HDR. When I try to stream 4K content from my Xbox via DNLA or through Microsoft Edge, I get a huge green screen and the video plays but the screen is just green.
    Any solution for that?

I can get Netflix category in 4k and play the movies but cannot even see the category for Amazon. The movies from Amazon appear to be upscaled but that is not satisfactory. My Roku 4 stomps it when played at the same time. Hopefully we will see a fix soon.

You have to pay for the top spec part of Netflix which could be your issue.

As for Amazon they haven't updated the app to support 4K yet. And knowing Amazon I wouldn't hold my breath.

So basically the statement on MS Store that you can stream Netflix and Amazon in 4k is false when it comes to Amazon?

The Netflix 4k works fine on mine and so does 4k HDR disc playback. Amazon has not updated the app in years and it certainly does not list any 4k categories for purchase or play. My Roku 4 does. A little peeved at Vudu too. They haven't updated their app
for Xbox One or S in years.

Can't get an answer out of Amazon as to why they are listed as supported for 4k, but they have not updated their app.

  7. Same problem here as well. Also no 4k on Youtube. Also upset that I can not set the xbox display setting to 1080p and the "allow 4k" box checked, and still get 4k netflix. It will not show the 4k content on netflix unless xbox display setting is set to
4k. I don't want the xbox to upscale all my content especially my tv signal. This was listed as a feature on xbox.com (along with amazon and youtube 4k streaming). ALL IN ALL VERY DISAPPOINTED IN XBOX ONE S!

I chatted with Amazon. As it turns out you can stream any UHD titles you *own* through them already. You cannot browse a list to buy 4k, see a category for 4k or use it for Prime 4k titles. But it does stream the few titles I already owned in 4k. This is
due to the app being extremely old and needing to be updated. Netflix works fine for 4k. I assume YouTube needs to be updated for 4k.

As long as on the subject, why doesn't MS Movies and TV Store on the One S offer any 4k titles? Has anybody heard of any plans that way?
