Xbox One S suddenly won't display 4K on 4K Monitor anymore.

This is my first ever question on here, so excuse me if I sound a little off lol.

So, the problem I am dealing with right now goes as follow...I am using an Xbox One S and I use it on an AOC 4K monitor. Everything was working just fine until one day I turned the Xbox on and it was displayed in 640x480. At the start it wouldn

In 't even recognize any of the resolutions whatsoever...So I reset my xbox and finally had more options. 1440p is the highest it goes at the moment, along with 60Hz. I go to "video modes" in the "Advanced options" sections, select "Allow 4K" and it gives
me an error stating that "4K won't work on your TV".

I am lost, I do not know what to do. I checked to see whether the monitor is on HDMI 1.4 or 2.0...It is on 2.0 and still nothing is working.

P.S. I also had an Xbox One X before this S, unfortunately it broke and had to buy the S. Never had issues with displaying 4K when using the same exact monitor that I am using at the moment when I played on the X.

If anyone knows any info that could help, I'd much appreciate it.

First and foremost you do realize the xbox one s only does 4k when playing a movie right not gaming

Also freesync has to be enabled

Basically you have to go thru monitor setup with the xbox

1440p is 4k just the computer equivilent with free sync

Have you tried the link below? Try it and see if it will display that resolution but I think it might might only be 1080p for monitors and 4k for tv's.

manual suggests that it is only using HDMI 1.4, which is only sufficient for 4K@30Hz. It seems 4K@60Hz is only feasible when connected with DisplayPort, which is not supported by the Xbox.

Xbox One S requires that the 4K display has at least HDMI 2.0, which has the necessary bandwidth to display 4K@60Hz.

4K TV sets are pretty much expected to carry this HDMI specification, but 4K computer monitors are more of a mixed bag.

Your information is not correct. Actually when you set the xbox one S console resolution to 4K UHD, everything on the console—Home, games, and apps—will display at 4K. 4K content is displayed in its native 4K resolution, and other content (like 1080p content)
is upscaled to 4K.

Unfortunately no. And an Xbox One S won't give you 4K gaming either. The Xbox One S only does 4K (with or without HDR) for video streaming or 4K UHD Blu-ray.

Games on the original Xbox will only play in 1080p and the maximum streaming quality for the Xbox App on Windows is 1080P anyway. Because your laptop's display will be 4K or 3840x2160, games will display in that resolution, but it will be an up-scale, not
a true 4K feed. Some games may look better, but you're not getting a 4K experience. That will only be a achievable on the up-coming Xbox X while connected via HDMI to a 4K screen.
