    Xbox one S stuck in Low-resolution, time to cut my losses?


    Being new to gaming and consoles I thought I could save some money and bought a second-hand console. Four weeks after buying it and it's now stuck in low-res mode (480×640 or something). I've tried EVERYTHING to fix it: new HDMI cable, tried on 2 TVs and 3 monitors, did override from recommended to HDMI output, factory reset, spent countless hours trying all the various setting in video & output, cleaned out the HDMI port. Nothing works.

    On closer inspection I noticed that the console has been deconstructed before (warranty seal missing).

    Is it time I cut my losses and just buy a brand new console? I've learnt my lesson about buying stuff second-hand.

    Thank you! Id already seen this video. So ive reset it into Low Res mode and then i cant change the resolution to any higher than 640x480.

    i have three other options:

    720p, 1080p and 4K UHD but whenever i click on any of those it just loses connectio for 20s then comes back in 640x480. Its a brand new TV, bramd new HDMI. Ive changed it from the auto detect mode to HDMI and still its the same. I’ve never been so frustrated!
