Xbox One s Storage mising

I also have a S and the storage is also 780 out of 1000. I gyess the space is for system and eventual updates, to make sure there is always enough for updates and optimization. I wouldn't worry. Even though I understand 220GB seems quite a lot, the remaining
780 seems quite enough for me as I have nearly 30 games installed right now.

There will be a significant portion held aside for the system but not 220gb! Was it a brand new & sealed unit or a second hand unit?

The 220 GB of memory which you think you are using is actually designated memory for OS software of the console. It's the same on all current versions of the Xbox One and take up roughly 20% of the base memory for each console. I'd recommend investing
in an external hard rive if your running low, because you don't want to delete anything from that designated memory, trust me.

Series consoles.are different and are not considered Xbox one nor is it part of the name

Also any games.that are meant for the series consoles has to be on storage card or.internal memory

Xbox one games works regardless of Xbox one s or og or one x

And you can use any storage

But for Xbox series consoles there is only s or x not one s/x

And only games on optimized nvme or the Xbox nvme storage card will download the series version

If you put it on external it would only download the Xbox one as you arent running thr optimized nvme

the difference between a regular Xbox One s and a Xbox One S 1TB will be that the 1TB version will have a 1tb storage device and not a 500GB storage device.

So the 1TB which is about 1000GB will have approx. twice the storage amount compared to the 500GB version.

Keep in mind that if needed the storage space can be expanded by connecting an external storage device (USB 3.0 and at least 256GB) to expand the available storage on any Xbox One console.
