Xbox One S startup chime not working?

Sorry that you're dealing with this inconvenience. Since you have already done a soft reset and have power cycled it as well, I think maybe manipulating some settings might do something.

I would suggest you try switching power modes on the console as outlined on our support site entitled

Change the power settings on your Xbox One console and seeing if that changes anything.

This could also be a hardware issue stemming from that speaker that is supposed to make the sound going out. If none of the troubleshooting steps have helped so far, you can always try and set up a repair for your console by visiting our

device support site or contact

Hi, have you tried power cycling the console? Doing it can fix most problems including bringing back the startup and eject sounds. To power cycle, press and hold the power button down on the console until it turns off, then wait a few seconds and turn
back on. Hopefully that should fix your issue.

It is possible to disable the startup and shut down chimes int he console settings.

Startup Chime

• You can now modify when you hear the startup chime! You’ll find three new options in
  Settings > Power & startup > Power mode & startup.
  • On (startup chime plays anytime the console is powered on).
  • Only with power button or voice (startup chime plays when console is powered on via the power button or voice; does not play when powered on with the controller).
  • Off (startup chime never plays).
