Xbox One S soft factory default reset still having start issues

This was bought online from a store that doesn’t carry electronics in the actual brick and mortar stores. Had a gift card so I bought it from them instead of from a big box retailer with physical in store stock. Also I can’t return it and buy it again
because it’s now $100 more on their site. Guess I will call their help line tomorrow and then if I can’t work it out I will set up a repair through Microsoft.

Really bad experience with Xbox One so far. My kid already has a Switch but he loves PvZ on 360 so I bought him this so he can play Battle for Neighborville. But so far not mych playing being done.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like there definitely something wrong with the hardware. You can try the store from which you purchased the console. However, if they do not exchange it you would need to go the repair route then. You can go to

device support to complete the repair process if need to.

I did a full factory default reset. Then I set the Xbox One S back up manually instead of using remembered settings. Then I tried to redownload Fortnite and then added some games I had from Gold on Xbox 360. Then I left it running and started doing some
other things. When I came back later most games say installation stopped. One of the games that appears to have downloaded, I click on it and the screen goes black and the console locks up and then eventually I get dumped back into the games Queue. and then
it starts cycling back through all the games saying Queued and the Installation Stopped. Then it seems like tgere is a huge lag where I can’t move my controller but I can hold the Xbox Button to turn off or restart the console.

I was thinking there was no way I would get this repaired but I am thinking that since I bought this on Black Friday I may have to, in order to prevent paying an additional $100.
