xbox one s slow download/upload speed and lack of basic features.

I have recently bought an XBOX ONE S and whilst trying to install DOOM i noticed that my download speed was half of what it was on my old xbox one that was connected with the same ethernet cable to my router although gameplay is not affected by this for
somereason. Along side this my XBOX feels like its working at 50% as it refuses to show my friends gamerpics whilst looking in the friend list. Another example is when looking through the community section on my console the usual thumbnales for game clips
and screenshots are not loading so all i see is black squares, this wouldnt usaually annoy me because on my previous console this would happen but fix itself after a couple of minutes something that my current console refuses to do. #

personally i have Verizon fios 85/35 package. xbox live downloads are terribly slow for me.

yet. on xbox i am lucky to see 2Mb/s down & 1mb/s up. Its absolutyely garbage. It will take me forever to download this 16GB Grand Theft Auto 5 right now..

Server lagging out despite my connection?

I just did a connection test and was told it was good. Here is what the connection test said.

Download 12.36Mb/s

Upload 5.06Mb/s

Ping 121 Ms

Why am I lagging out of games so often? When I test it at a location 1000+ miles away I get a much higher download speed but a slower upload speed

 

Hi! In this case you might want to try performing a soft factory reset with keeping your games and apps (so that you don't have to install them again) in order to find out if this occurs due to hardware or some kind of software issue:

I have already tried a full reset and nothing has changed. Should i try again?

 

What do you mean by 'full reset'? Hard reset or factory reset? I'd recommend to perform the latter: Reset Xbox One Console to Factory Defaults

 

I have already gone into the settings and done a factory reset but the problem is still present. sorry for the misunderstanding.

If you haven't already, please take the time to test both the Network connection
and the multiplayer connection tests.

Test the NAT type while in network settings as well.

Both the network connection and multiplayer connections came back as good and my NAT type is open.

Are you wired or wireless? Also you could reboot your modem/Router just unplug for 30 seconds plug back in then connect. I am curious as to what your download speed runs at if you could run the detailed network statistic test post download and upload here.
