    Hello: I have a One S, 1 TB, purchased 4 months ago. Connection is by Cat 6 cable directly to my router. I can also connect by WiFi.

    Here's my issue: connection speeds are very slow when compared to my Surface Pro 7 so that updates and downloads on Xbox take a very long time.

    What I've done: rebooted the router. Rebooted the Xbox console (pressed the button for 10 seconds and unplugged for 5 minutes). Cleared the MAC address on Xbox. All updates have been performed.

    Results:

    Wired connection: The Xbox is connected directly to the router. Down/Up speeds are 136/19 on average. When I connect my Surface Pro 7 in the exact same manner, speeds are 560/590 (yes, the upload speed is often faster than the download speed).

    Wifi connection: Xbox 200/12 on average (note that wifi is always faster than wired!). Surface Pro 7 speed is 560/325. Even my 6 year old Thinkpad has better speeds than the Xbox.

    Just called Xbox tech support: 30 minutes for a call back, spoke to an agent for 2 minutes who put me on hold for 35 minutes so that I could talk to a connectivity specialist...he spoke for 5 minutes and put me on hold...came back after 40 minutes then our
    call died from his end. He didn't call me back.

    So, I'm frustrated. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix these slow connectivity speeds? I realize the One S is old technology even though the purchase was just 4 months ago. It just seems strange to me that it is so much slower than my other equipment.

    You compared it with your old xbox one (s)?

    It can be laggy caused by xbox checking the network constantly and your home-network/provider connected to is slow or busy with many computers cconnected and/or microsoft services itself is slow/busy by many users accessing overloading it.

    In xbox settings you can check and test the network connection if it says good enough for gaming etc.

    Sometimes I can't even play a game like Rise of tombraider because xbox networkservice failed and anotherd day it worked again.
