Xbox One S shuts off when starting a game

I turn on my Xbox One S and it runs fine. I go and select a game to play and the Xbox just shuts off. After when I turn it back on it comes up as if I just did a hard reset. After this all games work fine no issues until the next time I turn on my console.

It is NOT a fan issue as my Xbox doesn't over heat and the fan runs as it always has.

Any solutions? Is this a known issue that Microsoft can fix?

My 2 week old Xbox one s 500gb keeps shutting off while I playing it.

While playing a game on my Xbox one S it will freeze and shut off. It is only 2 weeks old and never has worked right . Never have played a full game and it would never update from the first time starting it.

My son is having the same issue. when he plays any multiplayer game it loads then shuts off the console. Its not overheating and its not the power cord because he can play a disc game not on multi player mode. Any thoughts before we have to buy a new
one?

Try doing a power reset to see if that fixes the problem...

The way it seems from your description it might be something software wise being glitchy, or a straight hardware issue.

If I were you, I'd give a soft factory reset a shot.

It's a factory reset where you keep your games and apps and none of them get uninstalled. After you have made sure that you have all the sign-in information for any/all accounts on your console and that your internet access is good, try

Give that a shot and let us know how that helped with resolution of the issue

New problem. When I did this, the game launched, and when it launched I started up a game of casual, and when I loaded into the game, my Xbox completely shut off on me. This was also happening when I was in the tutorial stage of the game. The Xbox completely turned off 3 times before this 4th occurrence.

Anyway to fix it? It is currently on my internal storage drive, and I am playing on an Xbox One S. I just want to play the game and my Xbox keeps shutting off.

Also when it is turning off, I turn it back on, and it chimes and I have the chime feature off on my Xbox, and the chime makes a very scratchy Xbox on sound also, just thought I should throw that in there.

The same issue happens when I try to view the games with gold video. It will shut my Xbox completely off and do a hard reset. I own an Xbox One S.
