    Hi Everyone,

i recently bought a Xbox One S but i just can't get it working. Everytime i start it, it says "It's time for an update" and after a few minutes it appears this Error Code:

    0x80072F8F 0x00000000 0x00000201 or 0x87DD0003 0x00000000 0x00000201

I ran it through Google and there really are some people with the same issue but noone can provide me a solution that works. Here's what i already tried:

    -Checked the WiFi-Connection

-Opened all the Ports for the Console

    -Set it back to Factory-Settings

    -Installed OSU1

-Let the console rest without any powerconnection for a few days before trying it all again

-Hitting the Retry-Button again and again like a maniac

    Still, the same issue.

Another problem is, that i can't access the normal console-settings because i am still in the first set up and never reached a point where i can get to some kind of menu.

If you need more information about my problem, just let me know.

Edit: I also tried it via a hotspot on my phone but it's still not working.

    :)

    Hi there,

thank you for your quick response. I already did what you mentionted in your answer but it's still not working. Even after the offline Update the console wants to perform another update and ends up with the error. I tried all these steps on several days
for over a week now. What else can i do?

Hello there @Thaddläus, I hope everything is going well!

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I am sorry to know about the console situation; However, I believe your console might need just a system refresh to perform the system update successfully if it's missing any. I would like you to go through
the following steps to perform a quick power cycle.

I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

If you are still receiving the same issue, I would like you please to kindly follow the instructions below to physically reset your console:

    - Turn off the console unplug all the cables then re-plug them back again.

    - Click on the "Bind" and "Eject" buttons at the same time after 10 seconds click the home "X" button just once without letting go of the two buttons. Throughout the whole process you will hear two beep sounds and end up with a troubleshooting page. On your
screen. You will need to select the "Reset this Xbox" option and choose "Reset and keep my games and apps".

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you
to sign in to the account.

In case both troubleshooting steps weren't helpful, the next solution would be to perform an offline system update. In the link below you will be directed to everything you need to know about the offline update and how to run it.

    The link: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help.../system-update-solution/offline-system-update

I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out! All the best!

    Kind Regards

    Stay safe, and happy gaming!

It's also interesting as it can connect just fine on Ethernet. I can see the activity light flickering away showing it's connected at the switch when it's trying to check for updates. Just takes 5 minutes before it gives up and comes up with the error. People got exactly the same error on XBOX ONE back in 2019! That turned out to be an issue with XBOX LIVE! I have even done manual offline firmware update and still the classic Microsoft "Checking for updates..." but can't actually use the console.

so you say there are no issues but the xbox says different when I run network test.

Currently that's not an issue on Xbox live, and happens often due to network issues, but if thats not the case, and even doing the offline update process keeps happening, there's a problem in the console
