    XBOX One S, sees the media drive but doesn't...


    I've attached my 2TB media drive directly to my XBOX, I'm given the notification pop up asking if I want this to be a media drive or not, selected media drive. Installed the official Media Player app and it doesn't show me the drive. I've also installed
    VLC and Kodi, same thing. Yet going to Settings > System > Storage I CAN see the drive. Clicking into it to "View contents" opens the Media Player app but still nothing. The media player app does see my SONOS media server so that is working. But no media files.

    I've tried switching out the USB (it is USB 3). Tried swapping the ports. Turned off the "When Xbox is off, turn off storage" in the poer setting and I've done a full restart and no joy.

    Is there something I'm missing?

    Seagate Game Drive 4 tb only recognized as media device, no option to format it for games

    Hi, i bought a new Seagate Game Drive 4 tb but i can't format it for game storage on the Xbox One because it doesn't give me the option to do it, it sees it as a media only device. All help is greatly appreciated XBOX One S, sees the media drive but doesn't... :)

    Media Player and MP4's

    Greetings...

    Does the XB1 Media Player support MP4's ? It sees the WMV files on my Media Server, but not the MP4's.

    DNLA media Player

    My Xbox doesn't even detect my PC. When I launch the media player app, I get the message that I have to connect to a DLNA server or USB drive to view media. If I launch my Xbox 360's media app, I see my desktop's DLNA server in addition to the Plex server
    I'm running. This is using the same network cable for both the 360 and the Xbox One.

    I’m having a similar problem on my S series. Media drive is suddenly not appearing in settings and no media available in player. The drive is working perfectly on my pc but isn’t reading on my Xbox. What’s weirder is that my media drive has a USB port on its front and if I insert a drive in there the Xbox will see that drive. So that means all connections and and wires are working it’s just not see my media drive.

    Any help would be great.

    Ok, i found some sort of sollution (Xbox One S):

    Turn off your Xbox One by holding down the power button for 10sec.

    When turned off, unplug youre USB drive.

    Restart the Xbox One and login with youre account

    Re-plug the USB drive. Now a pop-ub appears for the Xbox Media App

    Go to the media app and you should/might see the USB drive now.

    Xbox one Console suddenly not seeing External drives, even brand new backup console.

    Similar problem; I have a hard drive enclosure with two drives RAIDed for media and one formatted for games; since the latest update the games drive mounts fine but the media drive is invisible. Tried all ports, different cables, power cycled everything: no change. The media drive mounts absolutely fine on all my other devices, it's just the XBox One that doesn't recognise it
