    Xbox One S screen turn off and on only in 4K mode.


    I replaced my hard drive with an SSD and everything looks fine, but now if I select the resolution 4K the console keeps turning on and off. If I change the resolution to 1080p works fine without the problem. I tried a different TV and different cables without success any help would be great. Also sometimes my external hard drive says the wrong USB and I have to disconnect and connect the cable a couple of time to make works.

    Xbox One S is not really a 4K console,

    4K Media Content - Yes

    You can play 4K Blu-ray DVD's or Streaming services like Netflix in 4K just fine if your paying the the 4K subscription options,

    4K Gaming Content - No

    As for games, it only plays games at 1080p but it is upscaled to 4K, other wise a 1080p image without upscaling to 4K, will look much worst on a 4K screen than what it would do, if it was only displayed on a 1080p screen,

    A 1080p image upscaled on a 4K screen does look a little better than a 1080p image on a 1080p screen, but it still a 1080p image made to fit a 4K resolution screen, which is what the Xbox One S does

    Xbox One X is a 4K console,

    4K Media - Yes

    4K Gaming - Yes

    The issues is not the TV, it's the Xbox One S not being an Xbox One X.

    The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

    The Xbox One S Supports 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution - not 4K gaming

    The Xbox One X Supports 4K Gaming, 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution

    - Game developer has to make the game 4K

    - 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

    off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)

    I have a gaming PC and I can Play 4K with the same screen without any problem. I am using my Xbox one S HDMI cable I read somewhere the cable came with ONE S is HDMI ver 2. I cannot put the console into 4K mode that's the problem
